Aged naturally, according to seller. I would love to see that environment!
Apart from that, I quite like it. Same neck date as my Fullerton (2-2-83). And, like mine, cutaway on the back of the body is on the shallow side.
Too bad the original stack-knobs are gone but most of the rest seems to be still there. Body shows what looks like a (filled) cut-out for a battery compartment maybe. Hard to make a call on the pickguard - it doesn't look quite right IMO but with everything cloaked in that red sheen, who knows?
Also a bit on the heavy side for a Fullerton at 9.5 lbs.
Well, there's three days + left on the auction. Will be interesting to see how much it will fetch.
I feel like people should make sure they are up to date on their vaccines before touching that thing.
been playing this for a few months now. great bass and a lot of fun. it was a total basket case when i got it. ski jumped and refretted with jumbo wire. i had the flip heat treated out and refretted and it sets up with strings laying on the board. the back of the body had some varnish or something brushed on the back that the previous owner applied to prevent any further buckle rash. i had to wet sand it off.
its a cool bass for what it is, but it feels nothing like my actual 62 jazz. the neck is wider at the nut and the taper is overall wider. the neck profile is way thinner. body contours are much more deep and exaggerated. it kind of feels like an entity in and of itself. the corona reissues feel more like a 62.

Narud, how did the heat treatment on the neck work out? Does it stay stable or is there a danger of it reverting over time?

i got it back at the end of sept so im about 3 months in so far. theres been zero shifting to date. im extremely picky about how i set up my basses in regards to low action. my typical setup is essentially zero relief with the string height ranging to 3/64ths on the G to 4/64ths on the E measured at the 15th fret with a capo on the first. i havent had any issues yet and with the action that low, any neck shifting becomes evident pretty quickly. the heat treatment was only for the ski jump as there were no relief issues and the rod adjusted the neck into backbow no problem.
when i got the neck back, i still had to do some spot fret leveling to get my setup, but it was in no fault of theyre work. i only sent the neck in so it was never setup before me getting it back. so, if you ever send a neck out for a treatment, you probably need to expect some additional work unless you send the whole bass.
