Is this a fullerton? obviously the mods really devalue it but the serial number isnt any V number which is odd.

Some pics from under the hood would be nice - but so far - I vote yes - its a fullerton.
The details of the neck and body sure say fullerton. But the neckplate has obviously been changed for what looks like a repop vintage guitar show special (bogus serial).
With two cavities cut into the body, thats about all its worth...body would be worthless to me from a collector standpoint.

Yeah it’s A little to butchered for me. Still if someone has A clean body and needs A original neck it maybe A good buy.
That looks like a nice grab. I have mine listed as well. Non-original electronics and no case but the longer I have it...the more I want to keep it. It’s a featherweight with a big sound.
I found one of my fullerton bass neck has 01 / 01 / 83 . " / " instead of " - " (hyphen)

I had an actual ‘57 in 1969/70. Paid $150. Played a lot of Who like improv. Traded it for a Traynor YBAII. The neck would sway back and forth every other gig. I didn’t have a wonderful tech like I do now.
In the early ‘80s I wanted another and bought a Fullerton RI. Neck plate serial #V096273. I never fell in love. It was played in a Bob Dylan session and sounded so perfect. I was about to sell it. I kept putting my ear to the horn and didn’t hear bliss. It sounded tepid acoustically or amplified. Nothing like the Ps I played in the ‘60s. I considered changing parts but decided to leave it stock.
I took pics and was about to post it and got a hunch to try different strings. Not to defame any type of strings or manufacturer, it had D’Addario nickels. They serve me well on other basses. They are consistent and last. Off they came and on went a set of Elixirs.
Oh, Wow! Huge bass, phat mids, and sweet treble. The tone control actually works! This ‘57 RI is just buttery sounding. Look, I can only say for my touch these strings brought out its huge sound potential.
So this many years later, NBD. Oh, it’s not for sale.

Please try to post some pics. Neck plate serial number (if original) will put it more to the late 80/early 90ties Corona models (which aren't bad either).

I've had this 1984 Fiesta Fullerton since '86 ... serial is V0109** and neck is marked 4/13/84 in both stamp and pencil. The neck pocket has a trace of gold paint, CAR over that, then Fiesta. No neck issues so far ... presently strung with Roto 77 flats.
For 15 years my bass to go was a 57 made in june 82.Never found a bass with a lower serial number.
The p was good,but last years i had a good deal and i sell it.
I had no regrets,for my experience the fullertons are nice basses,nothing else.My amvi 63 sound way better.
They are a piece of history,but never found those fabolous basses.for that price i’ll buy a cs now

The Custom Shop body template is the wrong shape , they use a generic body template where as the Fullerton is based more on the original early 60’s Jazz Bass. For the 2014 new production American Pure Vintage range Fender went back and traced around an original ‘64 Jazz to achieve the correct body outlines. Sadly the Custom Shop haven’t adopted this approach yet , strange considering how much they cost.

I'm having no luck selling my 2011 g&l sb-2 so i might be trading it in for a black p bass with white pickups and rosewood fretboard that is dated 1983.
Would this most likely be one of the fullerton reissues?
(just wanted to get your guys initial thoughts before i drive all the way out there and deal with the pain in the butt folks that own the music store)

If it has the serial number on the headstock it is a Fullerton made P Bass that isn’t an AVRI. I think they usually start with E3 and are generally well liked basses. If the serial number is on the neck plate and starts with a V it is most likely a Fullerton reissue. Do you have any pics?
Could be "just" a "Standard" Precision Bass made in Fullerton in 1983. E3 serial ... just like joker wrote.
