But it is marked "Made in Japan"
the only clues are "Made In Japan" on neckplate.
any ideas about what this bass is? authentic? year? as stated before no serial #, except 2 green japanese symbols in neckplate.
Hardwares were cheap, body often made from plywood (the wood layers often hidden by paint). isn't this an mim neck posing as mij? serial number looks pretty fake.

Fender Japan NEVER stamped "Made in Japan" on neckplate. The only Japanese factories that stamped "Made in Japan" on neckplate was Matsumoku and FujiGen.
