Hi. Depends upon what the market is like in your area (good ol supply and demand). If you are in a major market (like LA, SF, Chicago, etc.) where there is fair amount of supply, then that price is little high. If you are in a smaller market, with less supply, then prices may be higher since not as many to choose from, not as much competition, etc.
Good place to get a pulse for prices in your local area is Craigslist. However, check the ads over a period of weeks since you can get odd fluctuations. Prices on TB are also good indicators since people that post to TB classifieds generally know the avg market value.
Speaking from experience for So Calif, Fender American Std (make sure it is a Amer Std and not Amer Special or Highway One which are less expensive models) used 1990s-2000's w/ case go for $600 to $850 depending upon condition.
Please note, the above does not factor in mojo. If you find that perfect bass that just feels right and sings to you, then you obviously may be willing to pay a little more if it is a great fit for you.
