Hi guys,

Anyone's got a microphonic PU on their cabronita?
I noticed I have the first time I played it at moderately high volume. Pretty annoying.

I have no problems with the pickup and i play very loud (Peavey Tour 700 Head with 2 x GK 212 cabs and EHX Bass Blogger Fuzz).
I can stand direct in front of the cabs and get a nice controled feedback.

Nothing special, you hear it through the amp, but not more like with other P-Basses.

To any Italian TBer or anyone who's on these lands:
The Fender Cabronita is not available at shops. It can not be ordered from Fender Italy, shops neither can because it is not imported to Italy via official ways.
We can only buy from abroad.

Thomann doesn't have them in stock since January or December either. I think European market for MIM Cabronitas has been closed somehow.

The only European shop who seemed to have it doesn't have it anymore. I'm so p*ssed right now cause I can't get a sinple MIM P bass. Anyone know any EU shop keeping them? Or an US shop who gives Europe the honor to ship?

"unfortunately we don't have the fender cabronita line an we can't order it at fender."

The other site doesn't show the 2TS one so I didn't even bother trying.

I wish unavailable items were just taken off webistes.

The quest goes on.....

My posts are getting dull I know but dangit.

I asked Fender about Cabronita PBass discontinuation 4 months ago, they told me there was no official communication about that back then. Though, they were starting to go out of stock pretty much everywhere in Europe.
Fender Italian Dealer "Casale Bauer" put them on their 2015 list price anyway, listed only in Black finish. Last Thomann stock was also all black Cabronitas.

I've heard a few. They're an interesting experiment on Fender's part. But they just don't seem or sound like a Fender to me. (Which could be a good thing depending on where you're coming from.) They're sorta like the Rascal in that regard. At least to my ears. YMMV

Our beloved mexican Cabronita P-Bass disappeared from the Fender website. That means officially discontinued to me.

I finally bought a CAR one, and I'm gonna use it for modding purposes very soon!

One thing I don't understand is the tone pot though: It works different than a standard P bass. It's more like a mid band pass than a low pass filter. Pretty much not useful the way it is, being very subtle, I'm gonna swap that with a standard tone circuit.

I have noticed that too on my Squier Cabronita. The tone pot has a narrow range. I wonder why?

I checked that out a few months ago when I modded it. Actually there's a .22 tone cap on the Cabronita. Usually a standard P-Bass has a .47, cutting way more treble that way.
In the end I decided to stay with its original cap value cause I like the sound it gives with tone at 0.
Maybe I'll install a Stellar Tonestyler someday.

Thanks, well I can assure you I have no deformity. But it is fact that there is less room than on a thunderbird, a stingray, a jazz bass... the list goes on. I'm sure a lot of people do that just fine, all I'm saying is, while I can manage, it's not as comfortable as when playing other basses.

In future, I'd maybe leave it at 'thousands of players out there including myself do it', instead of claiming that someone must have a deformity of some type.

I'd bet that a thumb rest above the E would look pretty nice on this model.

My understanding is that those Cabronita basses are "normal people" versions of their "Proto Bass Custom Shop Creation".
