Fender limited edition professional P-bas info

VVT is fine, but for me, VTVT isn’t. One tone control is all I need on a passive bass, I don’t want to be messing around with two. I would probably buy a three hole pickguard and have it wired VVT. IM hoping the bridge pickup isn’t weak compared to the P, nothing wrong with that, if you just want the bridge pickup to add a like extra definition, like the G&L SB-2, but I want to use the pickups separately, so perhaps the EBMM Caprice which has a more matched output bridge pickup is better, (for me). Unfortunately the Caprice doesn’t have a roasted neck, but give it time, roasted necks are going to be very popular, imo. The Caprice also has a humbucking bridge pickup (unlike the Fender), and a Jazz neck. Hmmmm.

I just stated that it seemed to me that the thread started to talk about this new model from Fender, which, albeit being produced on a limited run basis, I find very attractive, and which I did know nothing about before reading the first post in the thread ... therefore, it seemed strange to me to talk about the characteristics of another bass in this thread ... then you replied in an upset way, clearly over-reacting for what concerns me, that's why I replied with a "sigh" ... reading your latest reply I believe that the "sigh" was justified .. I've got enough info on this new bass from Fender reading the thread, so I am at ease and I'll leave for other businesses .. peace and love :thumbsup:

Really?

Ok, maybe I’m a bit tightly wound today. I got a call for a job starting 11.30am at 9.30am today. Anyway, I think it’s far to compare the other American Passive PJ basses that are somewhat connected to Leo Fender. At the moment there are only three. Just good to see how the competition stacks up. I’m hoping the Fender’s Bridge pickup output will be equal to the P pickup, If not, I will go elsewhere. Definitely don’t want the expensive of a new pickup and a wiring mod to VVT. Enough said.

I just ordered a Daphe blue P with roasted maple neck but other than the usual specs on the ordering page there’s not much to be found pn Fender’s page or anywhere else.

that bridge PUP looks very far from the bridge.Too close to the P?

The J Pickup has a *little* less output; also, if the P is on full volume, the overall volume goes done a little bit when I put the J on full volume. Maximum overall volume is at P 100% and J 90-95% - a little strange.
Also I had to make the bass the side of the P Pick Up a little higher; the lows were a little lost for my taste. The low-mids and mids are phenomenal! (the high frequencies, too - but I don't play there often... )
I really love this bass, especially the neck is superb for me!

I’ve finally got the Fender American Professional limited edition P-bass roasted maple neck in Daphne blue that I was trying to get when I started this thread. It’s was hard to get hold of one, seems like there’s hardly any new ones left and only 100 made in spring 2019. Anyway now it has arrived in my possession and after a quick change of strings to stiffer flats and a general set up it plays fantastic and really promises to be a great all around bass with first of all a great P-bass sound but also with the ability to go a little bit into jazz growl territory. It seems to be very well built, it’s light, easy to play and the notes really feels and sounds solid and heavy in spite of the light weight.
For now I’m very happy and in some way I guess I can say it was worth the wait :)

Congrats! These are gorgeous, and I like a stacked-knob layout. They don't appear to have ever been released in the U.S., unfortunately.

Thanks! Yes so I’ve heard and it seems very strange since this is a great looking and playing bass and the US should be a big market for an instrument like this.
They also seem to be pretty much sold out over here as well so maybe Fender will make another batch worldwide later on.

You can configure the exact same bass on the Mod Shop in the US.
