it's actually the Wild Horse Monument off I90 near Wanapum lake in Eastern Washington. Great rest stop and view if you're ever in the neighborhood.
Not to be too nitpicky, but 'remuda' has always seemed more applicable for us, or for me at least. It's generally taken to mean a group of saddle-broke working horses that ranch hands choose from each day or more often as needed. Kinda like me this morning: "Practice today on PBass, Sterling or Mustang? Mustang, Sterling or PBass? MUSTANG!"
