Fender P-Bass REAL OR FAKE???

Thats a Fender. I have a client with a red one, same pickguard and pickups. Also a maple neck.

i don't see anything 'wrong' with the decal other than it's a jazz bass neck with a late 60's-early 70's precision bass decal on it, but maple jazz bass necks were block/bound (or later black dot/white bound), so it makes me think that it probably isn't even a fender neck. ......that combined with the huge frets and flatter radius.

Seriously, how does this thing play and sound?

Maybe a decent player and if the price is right, get it. Or hold out for a Classic 50s black/maple/gold anodized for around $500 used.

Treat it as a parts bass. If the action isn't terribly high (like it appears on the pictures) then maybe it's worth it to bargain down the price. But don't think that you're getting a Fender.
