Fender pre-CBS Club: pics mandatory!

Take it to an experienced luthier and go stainless on the new frets so you hopefully won't have to refret again. Take tension off of the neck and see if the rod moves gently. I always detune or remove the neck to make adjustments as vintage truss rods were undersized

Thanks. DO the stainless sound different?

I actually removed the neck to try the truss rod. In fact, you pretty much have to take it off to adjust since it's at the heel.

I don't think so. I love the sound of roto 66's but they eat up nickel frets. I have TI flats on my 63' P bc the frets are original and look great but I destroyed them on my 69 from rotosounds and had it refretted with stainless steel which held up much better

I have been using my mono m80 gig bag with my p and it has worked well. Reunion blues contenintials are nice also

Three old Js and one old P with an A-neck ... I love what Leo created :) Only the Olympic White is pre-CBS... the rest are just old.

"REQUEST"

Since we are bass players are musicians, who learn things from 'audio',..
Beside admiring the beautiful look of them, it would be very nice if you - lucky people who has Beautiful Pre-CBS Fender Basses - would like to also share some of your basses soundclips for us please, to 'drool' on...I mean to listen to :D.. I'm sure they sound as good as their look.
TY in advance..

Sure..LOL..that's why I use the word: 'also'... :D

I'll give an 'example' (I have none of them Pre-CBS Fender Basses yet, so this is not mine though)..:

Some amazing vintage basses and discussions here,..but... no sound/video clip of them?... hmm... I'd start (I hope you do too) :

Thanks for kind words. She is a recent acquisition.
My son got artistic with the pics- he was going to go sepia! Glad you like them.
Serial is on the neck plate. Steel saddles. I understand that is correct for 56.
Here is a pic of the heal. The script in the pickup cavity looks similar.
Anyone know whose initials these are, writing doesn't look the same as pics I have seen of Tadeo's writing.

Whoever made the neck did a good job- truss works fine, arrow straight and sets up like a dream 58 years later.
