I have two: a '63 refinished in "Shamrock Green" and a '64 in the original Olympic White. Before I owned it, the '63 belonged to Willie Weeks, who had Jimmy Coppolo install a set of "slow-wound" pickups. They are, by far, the nicest instruments I've ever played.

Indeed. Weeks put the instrument up for consignment at Gruhn's here in Nashville with the instructions that the salesmen were not to mention that it belonged to him. I only found out after I committed to purchasing the bass--a decision I got to make based on the merits of the instrument alone.
