Fender Rumble Club

The 25 is a great amp. But possibly try out the Rumble 40 before you decide. It is a little more money, but has the same pre-amp as the 200 and 500. Plus has a 10 inch speaker, which works a little better with a 5'er. And has the DI out should you ever decide to do some small shows with it.
If you use effects, then consider the 100 over the 40, as it has effects in and out. The 40 doesn't. the `100 has an eminence 12" speaker.

Hi all. Looking for a home practice amp. Recently tried out a Rumble 25 and was very impressed. However, I didn't get a chance to try a 5 string through one...
Any suggestions for which Rumble to look at for use with an active 5? Strictly home use, possible very small jams, not for live use.

Thanks!
I bought a Rumble 25 a couple of months ago when MF had the 15% off sale, so it was a great deal on a terrific little practice amp. You can always find an excuse to buy the next model up from any Rumble you buy, but it doesn’t mean that this is not a very capable amp. It’s well made, quiet, easy to use and simple. It has great tone and amazing bass (how sweet the sound) in a small, light and very affordable a package.

While I can’t speak to it’s use with a 5, I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Thanks for the responses, all.
The 25 I played through did indeed sound really good, especially when factoring "for what it is" into the mix.
I'm just concerned that long term, my 5s would kill the speaker. Guess I'll have to try to find a store with one that's not almost an hour away.

When you say "lack of volume" do you mean that the 500c on its own is louder? Or are you talking about a 500c with an external cab?

I believe it is referring to the poster perceiving a lack of difference in volume between the 500c and 800 Stage, played side by side, without extension cabs (which would make sense as the 500 is 350 without extension and the 800 is 400 without extension)

No, I meant that I didn't notice a difference in volume between the 500c and the 800. I know the 500c is 350 without an extension, so if the 800 is a true 800 watts on its own, I should've heard a significant difference in volume, but I did not. So it makes sense that the 800 is 400 watts without an extension.

I'm STILL trying to justify why I need an extension cabinet for mine. So far I just can't! This is no way to live!
You don't NEED the extension cab for most applications. But the way the sound fills the space, even at the same volume settings, has to be experienced to be appreciated. Can't really explain it but I know from experience that it works. Plus having the speakers up where they're not shooting at your knees is a big plus.
