I was on 6th street in Austin Texas a week ago and saw a band that had a bass player playing sousaphone. Strange, but it sounded good. They also had a trumpet player. It wasn't ompah stuff, but licks you would expect to hear from bass guitar.When I played in the polka band I briefly looked into getting some kind of effect that could make my bass somewhat emulate a tuba. I soon lost interest though. I suppose with a lousy/farty sounding cab I might have been able to come close.

The weather was beautiful and I had a chance to open up my Fender Rumble 200 - it was thumping with ease! I was extremely impressed!
It performed like a champ and I received many unsolicited compliments on the tone!

EDIT: I haven't been able to open mine up except at home. Stuff was falling offa shelves and I wasn't even up to noon on the volume(was at noon on Gain)

I drove for 23 years and I always thought it would be cool to have a trailer w/ 1 rollup canvas side, front,rear and one side wall, lights(and fans)in the ceiling and a QUIET generator underneath. Could have the backline and the monitors bolted down, PA speakers front and rear corners..... Then I woke up(sigh)Ah yes - the workingman's portable stage for these a lot of these type of events.
But the weather was fantastic, food vendors, bounce houses for the kids - a good time!
My first outdoor gig with my Rumble 200 since I got a few months ago - it performed wonderfully!
Perfect situation for a Fender Rumble 115 extension speaker cabinet to go underneath to move more air. Looks like you had plenty to move. Did you make use of the Rumble's XLR out to the sound board?
ALL situations require it, whether you use it or not.Although - I would love to acquire the extension cab just to have it for some situations that might call for it.
That's how I feel about my R112. If it's under the R200c, it puts That up where I can hear it better even if I don't connect the 112. However,as long as it's there and it's only one cable...............ALL situations require it, whether you use it or not.

Maybe those are popular with modern surf bands, but in the 60's and early 70's, bands that I was familiar with; Bel-Aires, Safaris, Beach Boys, Chantays...were pretty much playing Fender stuff. Never saw a Danelectro "longhorn" played live and the Ventures played Mosrites only because of an endorsement contract.
True, I always thought that the Mosrite was a weird sci-fi looking thing. [bridge to "Out of Limits" and fade]True! But they So fit the image.

We don't question or revise history. We applaud and cherish it.Funny to see original drummer Howie Johnson, funnier to see Nokie on bass when he turned out to be their best guitarist and funniest to see the audience clapping on 1 and 3-and chewing gum!
