Yeah some real smart $#% thought that marketing gimmick up after seeing the movie...best of luck to them for thinking of it...i'd like some too..our gas oven cooks cold so going to 11 may get things well cooked finally lollI've seen replacement knobs that go to 11. Like to get some for one of my other amps.

I had a gas stove when I lived in a 'tornado magnet'. Loved it. I inherited my folks house;it's all electric. "Someday" I'd like to switch to gas but the expense is gonna be $$$$...$$.
We have some of the largest gas reserves in the world here in my state of South Oz GP and still pay the highest prices for it...just like we do for musical equipment...outrageous prices for overseas (USA, UK etc) made guitars and amps.

At only $100 more, 2 lbs more, and the same size? Seems like the scales tip towards the 500
After 2 years into regular gigging, IWelcome to the 10" vs 15" zone! If you compare the sound of the C500 and the C200 from 10 to 20 feet away (which is where your audience is), you may find that the C200's 15" driver is not muddy, but warmer. It did for me, but YMMV. I liked it so much, I added a 15" extension cab to my C200. I added an HPF, but you may need that for room acoustics regardless of which on you choose.
As they say, it doesn't matter what we think, it matters what you prefer. You can't go wrong with either one.

That’s certainly a great price. I was interested in the R15 also until one night (while practicing late) I turned my “bass” and “low mid” controls to “off”. Also disengaged the “vintage” button (which I love) and played at a very low level. This was while playing songs through the aux port also. Never disturbed anyone in the house and it works out great! No need for a practice amp... this is the way to go for me. It’s all you need to hear for practicing.
Agreed. You can always turn volume down since in practice you're usually working on the notes, not the tone. Especially since tone will need tweaks in each different venue, but the 'licks' are gonna be the same-hopefully.
Obviously you need a Stage 800.Well... I've got two of the 210 cabs to go with a 500 head. I could have one 210 cab here at the house and the other on the stage at the winery.... but both 210's are at the winery leaving me nothing here at the house. Kinda on the fence on this one. While $35 is certainly the "right" price, it isn't "really" local - it's about 40 miles from here - which is what we consider local when you live out in the sticks. Still, it's gonna take a couple hours of my time to drive over and get it and the truck only gets 14 mpg - so it's gonna take almost 6 gallons of gas. Luckily gas is pretty cheap here, but we're still looking at $15 for gas. So my out of pocket costs just shot up to $50. If I figure $10 an hour for my time I'm at $70 for an amp I can get new for $80 delivered. I'm thinking I'll pass unless I just happen to be down that way sometime in the next week or so...
I just realized I've got all of my bass amps at the winery and all of my bass guitars here at the house...
