Fender Rumble Club

Thanks! I've said before, but the R500c really knocked my socks off. But in another thread, a lot of members suggested I consider head/cab, and try different brands. (I know, I know... :rollno:) So I'm keeping my mind open.
What comes first, the amp or the gig?

I agree, 350w just seems like the perfect size. And with the 500h discontinued, I think they will only become harder to find.

My primary goals are tone and reliability. I know the controls are different, but I could adapt to that.

You’re welcome!

Oh yeah. I love your “what comes first?” thread.

I completely recommend the V2 350h for all of the things you’re looking for. Also, yes, the controls are different, but I’d consider the v2’s parametric EQ a selling point.

...and i hope @GonePlaid won’t be mad at me posting our results from our Super Top Secret Experiments in The GP Garage (yes! The one in the pics!) but we came to the conclusion that a V2 R350 head and a pair of V3 R112 cabs would be a pretty versatile rig. Don’t tell anyone though. My caveat would be-if you’re a 4 string player. I have a P5 so the 115s work for me.

I got tangled in my cord last night and the input jack got yanked.
I thought my night was over but I managed to tighten it and finish the job. I love the Rumble, but I’m not going to lie, I wish it were a bit more sturdy.

I go once around the handle of my Stage 800 and then into the input jack. I leave a little loop standing tall over the handle. That way I've got a little slack before I yank on the handle.
I will say I'm not very fond of the controls on top. That was fine before I added the ext cabinet, now it's just an inconvenient height.

I'll get over it.;)

Kenny’s Rockin the Rick with the Rumble tonight. Hum, that’s allot of “R”s! :-)
(Actually it’s a blues gig)

... . . . Question has anyone played both the hydrides and the rumbles what did you think ... ...

If you mean the Bassman hybrids, like the 500 and 800 with tube pre-amp and ICE power amp, YES, I have a Bassman 500 with Bassman 115 and a Rumble 500 combo and I find them very similar in performance and many of their tones! Of course, the Bassman has the tubed pre-amp and many different controls, so it can get many tones the Rumble can't quite reach. But, otherwise, they're very comparable.
.
... . . . and I cand seem to find out if the rumble v3 410is ported or not.

Of course the V3 410 is ported, as described on the Fender website: Fender Rumble Club
And here's a picture without the grille: Fender Rumble Club

After hearing a coupla similar stories, I decided to try something a bit different. A 90 degree adapter, plugged into the input jack aimed toward the center of the handle. My cord goes through the handle to the adapter. If the cord got yanked it'll just pull outta the adapter. Annoying but not damaging.[my usual HD pic]

Yeah now it would be easier to use to phone app if you have it

Simple but functional. I like it!

All right. I'm getting more and more interested in the Mud Stand.
What does everyone think of them as far as pros and cons?
Does anyone have pics of the big one made for bass?
Maybe even with an R115 cab and a head on it?

Just following up on this:
Looks like not a lot of MudStand users in the Rumble club.
That's too bad. It looked like a good idea.

Maybe I should go with an Auralex Gramma V2.
Is this the right size for an R115 cab?
It seems like it could go either way-like the cab might go right to the end of the pad, but the foam underneath doesn't.
Anyone with experience?

The Mudstands aren't cheap. By reading the capacities and measurements of them, I saw I could use the 'mini' for my R40 and R200c. Because of the light weight of the 115 cab, you could prolly use a mini but not with the head on it. IDK the total weight of all that.

Thanks, Mike!
If it does what it's supposed to do, I'm okay saving up and getting the big one made for bass. I like the idea of decoupling and also converting my rig into a tilt back. A couple of Rumblers have said that the magnets will hold the head on in a tiltback situation.
Do you use yours a lot?
Does it do a good job decoupling?
Another question I have is this:
Can you leave the stand on there semi-permanently?
My little Roland Micro Cube lives on a stand, but the stand is made of metal.
I read a review from Guitar Player magazine that said instruction said not to because the foam would eventually compress. This part isn't a deal breaker, but I'd like to know all of the facts that I can. As you said, GP, they're not cheap so I'd like to have as much info as possible before sending a payment.
...and thank you as always for helping me!

I use it on gigs so I break it down/set it up each time I use it. Most of the places we play have solid(cement, tile or linoleum)floors so its main purpose is to angle the amp. The concert band plays on a wood stage so it helps with the decoupling.

Sounds like it may work after all.
I'd be okay only using it for gigs. My cabs sounds fine in the living room without decoupling and tilting. It's at gigs where I'd need that.
Lately, I'm using mainly a single 115 cab so the MudStand should be perfect. When I get into situations that require both cabs, maybe I'll get the Gramma for decoupling and not worry about titlback since the top cab will be higher.
Thanks again, GP.
