Fender Rumble Club

I’m really liking the v1 rumble 100 I’ve played a few times recently. I prefer it over a nice hartke 100 combo we use as well, it has a nicer beefier sound, that really fills out. Only thing I prefer on the hartke that the rumble is missing is a compressor/limiter knob.

It sounds more like the hartke has a 1/12 and the rumble has 1/15. The rumble speaker looks slightly bigger, I feel this is the biggest difference in tone.

Very interested in trying a V3 1/15 or even 2/10 rumble, because so far the only v3 I’ve tried is my 1/12 100 combo. Which is great! It’s perfect size and weight for band practice and travelling to a mates place. It’s a little big for the bedroom, if I had the choice, I would get a seperate studio 40 for the bedroom, but there’s no point now I already have the 100.

It’s just looking for a nice punchy lightweight combo later on for medium/ large gigs. Weddings, barbecues, general parties stuff like that. I’m thinking rumble, cos it ticks all those boxes and also costs one of the cheapest at the same time, so it’s a no brainer. Just curious in trying any other alternatives, cos u never know. Thing is everything else that is decent costs double nearly triple the rumble price tag. I love that crisp deep Aguilar sound, and I think the rumble replicated that the closest from other amps I’ve heard.
I'm in your boat Rumbleman! Back up to about here:

Get a second 100 and daisy chain them. Use 1 when it's all you need, both when ya need both.

I'd love to hear some real world stories of this. Seems like all TB members who have done it have disappeared...

I did it several years with a 150 and a 250. Granted, they were Bassman combos at that time, but really just V2 Rumbles with extra controls and connectors. Fender Rumble Club

Pardon my rats' nest of cables and stuff, but this is about the only 3'x3' space I have to practice in due to our current living situation:

I'd love to spread out a little, but it is what it is. At our old house, I was able to keep the amps in the corner and move myself (and my pedalboard) around the room to fully appreciate the sound and tone of everything...and it was there that I discovered that the ceiling fan generated interference with my ModTone delay and caused a cool flanger effect in the tube amp.

At this very moment, I've got my Rumble set up with an aux cord to play backing tracks, and I was experimenting a little with running my Peavey amp as an extension out of the Ibanez amp (sitting on top of the Rumble, pointed away from me to generate a little bit of reverb). But, I'll put the Peavey on aux cord duty for backing tracks and stuff when I'm playing through the Rumble.

I love that neat little Kirby Combo type amp on the left at the back with its little grey wheels...obviously an older tube amp as I can see the grey vacuum tube outlet thingy. Bet she cleans up the other combos loll

No, man! That wheeled Kirby amp sucks! Literally!

Sorry, I had to say it before somebody else did.

Howdy Rumblers! I could use some feedback/guidance....

So I've been enjoying my 100c, but also been wanting to add a 200c for bigger gigs. I went down a store to test some things out. I tried a 500c and 200c. Right out of the gate the 500 really impressed me! Clean and clear, thick and rich, not at all bright and thin as I expected from the 2x10. The 200 OTOH, was a little muddy/boomy. Even playing with EQ and tweeter, it was still a little harder to tame. Plenty loud though!

Here's where I'm at:

200c: more affordable option. Which is important to me, but I also want to get the right amp.
Do the 200c owners have any tips for dialing in that clean, clear sound?
What kind of situations do you find the 200c is just not enough?
Also, anyone here daisy chain a 100+200?

500c: I really like the sound I got out of this today, and part of me is saying this is the answer. Also, if you look at $/Watts, the 500 is actually a better value! Plus, this seems like a "future proof" approach.

Before today, 500h + 115 was on the table, add a 2x10 later, but now I think if i went 500, it'll be a combo.

So, what's a guy to do?
TIA

So did u get the 500?

This is good, but I’m just thinking I would prefer the sound of 1x15 or 2x10, but I’m still yet to try some out.

So 2x r100 combos... that makes it 2 12 speakers, and 200 watts?
I’m interested in hearing how this would sound, but I doubt any stores would be able to connect two of them together for me.
And how would I connect them together... is it that little trick through the effects send/return? The little trick that I saw once browsing through the rumble club wiki that I don’t really remember?

They'll hook em up for you if they think there's a commission at the end of the cable.
Yeah, you run effects send from one to the effects return of the other.

And which one is in control of the volume and eq - the send amp, return amp, or both? Thanks

I would much rather carry around 1 amp instead of 2, which is the biggest turnoff

I'd assume EQ on the first and master on both. Could be mistaken about the EQ though. Still need a 2x10 ext and a 1x15 ext before I can buy a second 800 Stage and another 2x10 ext and another 1x15 ext. It's definitely been given considerable consideration though. Kinda want some latin drums too... And mics for a million things...
Somebody who actually knows is about to pipe in. Promise.

Thanks guys! I guess my questions revolve around headroom and volume. More for my curiosity, and the scrolls of history. (Ok, and I still kinda wanna try it ;) )

On paper, 200h + 12 + 12 = 100c + 100c
I get the 200h has more "headroom." But at say, 50% power, are they the same volume? At what point does the 200h out perform the 2 100w power amps of the combos?

Done it with a 100 and a 40. Works a treat.
Not a direct comparison, but:
200c vs. 100c + 40c...
They both have 140w. The 100+40 has slightly more speaker surface. The tone will be obviously different. Could the 100+40 be louder than the 200? Or would the headroom of the 200 outweigh the speaker surface difference?

These are the things that keep me up at night. o_O
I'd ask wheres Linnin, but he'd probably just say "mo rumbles, mo betta." :roflmao:;)
