Hmmm, now that I think about it, with that rig and a Fender Mustang GT 100 to swap out with the Rumble Studio 40, I'll be ready when Sir Paul calls for me to replace Brian Ray due to retirement! (He was very disappointed that I wouldn't quit my day job before, and he had to call Brian the last time. ) Yeah, I can handle the Lennon rhythm licks with my Fender Modern Player Coronado and I prefer to sing the Lennon harmonies, since Paul's high harmonies can, occasionally, tax my vocal chords.

Yeah, that's the plan. No foolin'!

Man it's been raining for two years straight in Kentucky. Work nights so I don't get to see the sun anyways but I gotta close the dock gates when it rains and then the lasers boil my insides for the rest of the night. You'd think it was the Amazon the way I get chewed on by bugs all night.

One minor moan I have with my Rumble 500 is that the treble frequency is 10khz, sounds ok but if you decide to use the tweeter and boost the @@@@ out of the treble as I often do it can get a little bit hissy, would be good if the treble was around 5khz and the bright switch was 10khz that way you can stil have all the treble you would ever need with a little less hiss, the other thing is that a lot of people are hearing deficient in the 10khz range so there is the risk of over-boosting this frequency

I see everybody chaining their amps together and I wonder why fender doesn't offer a rumble line of powered speaker cabs. I remember back in the 80's running my amp into one of the slave 4x12 100watt Fender Rhodes cabs my high school had, sounded awesome.

Probably because there's no real need for it. The Rumble line contains plenty of powerful options with ordinary cabs. It's only us mad scientist types who like to hot-rod and experiment with our amps.

I did an outside, noon to 4PM gig today. 93 degrees, 102 'feel like'. Used the R200c/R112 with my EpiBird 5 string. Sounded bodacious and got lotta nice comments. This pic is from when I hooked all of these together-loud!

Just got my On Stage folding wedge in the mail today. Yet to be field tested, first impressions:

Price: 20 bucks. Cant beat that!
Size: Tiny! Folded, it's the size of an iPad. 6"x7". Opened up, it's about 4" high. The item description says it tilts back (up to) 30°.
Stability: surprisingly good! This was my biggest concern. Grips are sticky, and its reinforced with plastic, probably. It was quite hard to knock my 100c off, would take a real punk rock kick to upset this on stage.
Decoupling: we shall see.....

I would would not have thought that was able to decouple.
Let us know when you test out the decoupling aspect in a room where you've had boominess problems.

Probably just have to be careful how much preamp gain you give the master amp so the signal isn't way hot when it gets to the slave amp's preamp.

Jeremy, it took some reading, re-reading, and reading again but, I think I found your problem. Since you're using the Studio preset(s) to send signal to the 40, and running the 40's Gain at 12, then 40 to FOH, the 40 may be putting too much gain into the signal to FOH. This is per the Rumble Talk (from a friend at Fender) on daisy chaining. It doesn't risk damage, alan, but does risk less-than-ideal sound or signal, per this case in point.

Jeremy, why not send FOH from the Studio's Post XLR Out? That should be the way to go, I would think. Your 40 can still use the Studio's left channel (mono) FX Send to it's input, then EQ to taste without affecting the FOH.

Oh Duh! You are correct. I must have had a senior moment. You have to go to the 100 before you get that. So, have you ordered your 100 yet?

All of my speaker cabs-instrument and PA-are passive. They all work just fine and I'm not about to trash them and spend a load of cash I don't have to "upgrade". I'd be first in line to ignore powered cabs.
