Fender Rumble Club

Happy Fender Friday!
I got to test out the Mud Stand in a full band situation with a drummer and electric guitarist. We weren’t at huge volumes, but the rig did great. The magnets held the head in place no problem. Please note the watchful dinos. I’m sure they helped, too!

...and if you look to the left, you’ll see an R200c from the bass player for the other band that practices there. Double Rumble!!!

Happy 'earworm'!

Well gang, I did a thing. Bought myself a second Rumble 100!

I know what you're saying. But Alan, you were supposed to get something bigger, like a 200 or 500! But my reasoning was 2 fold:
1) after a frustrating rehearsal with my 25w ampeg vs. My drummer on the kit, I decided I wanted one for the rehearsal room. Great Rumble tone and no schlep? I'll take it!
2) I figure I can do the daisy chain in the rare case that the 100 alone isnt enough. The idea of a bigger Rumble spending most of it's time in the closet just wasnt sitting right with me!

So I see it as a win win. I only got to spend a little time testing out the daisy chain, but it is LOUD! I figure if I find myself hauling the 2 combos to gigs on a regular basis, then I can upgrade. But I've got my bases (pun intended) covered now, and let me tell you it's been a real GAS buster!

Got it from GC used online. I called to confirm basic working order. great price, but still a few minor issues:
1) the dreaded sticky yellow knobs! Not huge for me, I can change them down the line.
2) fender logo is cracked! Also NBD, my other logo got snapped off in a load-in, I can just remove this one to match!
3) rubber feet are a bit damaged, 1 chewed up, 1 missing. Anyone ever replace these? Seems like the kinda thing I can get at a hardware store....

Anyways, I'm very pleased with my decision and my purchase! :)
Congratulations!
I think this was an awesome move!
Interesting(I read all 6).Not being a fan of the 'Peg sound(for me), I'll stick with the Rumble on its own. BTW, in the 'group pic', you can see the little Ampworks simulator on top of the KB300. Unneeded for the Rumbles.

Hey, sir!
What is that little Fender tiltback ya got goin’ on there?

The 500 will have a little bit more headroom. A lot of guys prefer the sound of the 200 because of the speaker size difference.

Depending on your band, you might need an extension cab in either case to keep up if you’re trying to carry a room without PA support.

I had the 200 but it couldn’t keep up with my band, so I traded it in for a Rumble 800 head and a Rumble 410 cab. I would have gotten the extension for the 200 but I liked the modular options I gained by going this route instead.
So did you like it?
Did it work out?
I prefer the 500, mostly because I prefer the definition I get from the 10" drivers without sacrificing any low end. Also, it allowed me to get a matching cab for the optimum vertical coupling effect. That said, many like the 15" in the 200, and it’s a little lighter, and a little cheaper, with a little less headroom. Ya pays yer money, and ya makes yer choice. :)
Yeah.
The drummer I played with today was like “you should get a 210” cab to match up with that 115.
Uh oh.

Also what do you guys recommend between the 200C and the 500C? I understand one’s a 15” and the other 2 10”s but can the 500C sound just like the 200C but with more volume? I’m playing classic rocknroll in small to medium bars/clubs.
In my brief demo, I liked the 500 better. But my goal is to have an amp that "cuts through" and I thought the 500 was more crisp. If I was playing more vintage blues, country, motown, I'd definatly go 200. But an all purpose rock n roll amp, I'll go 500.

I'm set with my 100c for a while, but I've pretty much decided the 500 is my "next step" amp.

If you want more power with 15 tone, why not head/cab?

So I just played my town's music and dance fest yesterday. 101 heat index, and we played at 2:30! Load in was a bear- drop gear at the gate, drive a mile to park with the campers, shuttle back. Really appreciated my featherweight Rumble!

Volunteer PA was a little sorry. When I heard "monitors are going out the headphone jack" I was a little concerned! I found it ironic, that after all my spouting off about the 100 being enough, I wish I had a bigger amp! :roflmao:
But being a total one-off, we were playing pro bono, and considering the load in- probably would have brought the 100 even if I knew ahead of time.

Also put my Rumble up on another speaker cab. That thing sounded very different up off the floor about 2'. Amazing what location can do.

But I think it was just stage volume, lack of monitors that was the issue. Sound guy was very involved in trying to tweak things, and we got lots of compliments!

Well, doggies!

It sure is a fine thing when the answer to recommending a Rumble is always, "That depends." And the truth usually boils down to your own personal preference. And luckily, there's a Rumble rig to suit any situation! Combos of all sizes, with or without modeling, or an assortment of heads and cabs (counting discontinued models on the used market) are available to meet any need.

I recollect as how I've read here in The Club of people gigging everything from the little 25 to pretty much every other possible Rumble, or combination thereof! Don't recall a gigging 15, though, do you? Why, the Rumble 115 & 410 cabs are even a frequent choice for use with Bassman heads!

With all these great choices, there's nothing left but to Rumble On!
.

Nice!
What size speaker/wattage?
Is that the model that Fender made for you to give to your buddy Aaron?
Answered my own questions.
Looks like:
-25 watts
-10”
-definitely from Fender’s “Give to Aaron” line.

Sound about right @GonePlaid ?
Especially the last part?

Some of you Bassman owners may be saying “I wonder if my Bassman is part of the ‘give to Aaron’ line?”
Of course I am here to elucidate. Here’s how you can tell:
If it’s spelled “Bassman” it is indeed part of the GTA line.
You can tell because it has two As-bAssmAn like the two As in AAron.
If your amp or can says this, please PM me. I respond with my address so you can get that gear in the mail. I’ll even let you pay shipping!

GP, For you, sir, I’ll even come down to pick it up and you can even buy me lunch because I’m just that nice of a guy.

You’re welcome, soon-to-be-former-bAssmAn-owners!
Have a great Saturday!
