Fender Rumble Club

My second pass looking for new membership applicants found these:
.

OK, @THC, you are member #1108 in the Fender Rumble Club. I may be drunk with power for issuing this number without a picture, so let's see one before I get fired, OK?
.

Glad you got the message about showing a pic! @knuckleduster, you are member #1109 in the Fender Rumble Club. Your cables and stuff are pardoned.
.

Welcome, @Frankula, you are member #1110 in the Fender Rumble Club. That looks lovely.
.

Folks, I may be overstepping my authority here but, @Droopy_TX you are now member #1111 in the Fender Rumble Club. I make this award in recognition of your exceptionally dedicated work developing the Rumble Stage & Studio Preset Templates and the Stock Preset Decoder Files and in finding, reporting and following up on the iOS Tone App bug involving the Rumble V3 presets. Thank you, Droopy_TX!
.

And a beautiful rig it is, too! Welcome, @Jephmo, you are member #1112 in the Fender Rumble Club.
.

Cool pic. It is my honor, @Hawaii Islander, to welcome you as member #1113 in the Fender Rumble Club. [Drapes plumeria lei in greeting] Aloha! I wanna go back to my little grass shack, too. Maui no ka oi.

Whew! @Gravedigger Dav, nobody misses you more than me! But I now see why you need a very thorough rest and recovery! Rest well, my friend, rest well. [pant, pant]

Very cool, thank you!

Guys i need to ask you something.
On a rehearsal i was really happy playing with a rare combination of mi fender rumble 500 and a laney rb8, all from my pedalboard (with an aby pedal i got my signal to both amps) and suddenly the fender starts farting out. i was pretty scared so i turned it off and continue playing with the laney. the next day i connect the fender and works like nothing has happened.
my settings are always everything at noon and the pedalboard are running a compressor, an eq and a DI. nothing fancy.

any ideas?

Richie, you aren't playing your Rumble 500 combo close to, and facing, the wall, as in your photos, are you? If so, I could imagine all that sound pressure building up and causing back pressure against the speakers and maybe the problems you're experiencing. Just a thought.

Anyone use the Rumble 100v3 in a live setting? How does it hold up?
Yup. But my “drummer” plays a cajon box. Still, Marshall tubes and a decent PA, and more than enough stage volume.

On rare occasions he brings the drum kit, I use 2 100s. I have a feeling the 100 would be enough for a stage monitor for the drums But I’m not brave/foolish enough to try!

If you have a drummer, have a decent stage volume, and still have a choice; I’d get a 200. Again, the 100 is a powerhouse, but why risk it?

I used my 100c this past weekend with a six piece band in a small hall(holds about 200 people). With some FOH support it was really more if a stage monitor, but I'd have to say it really held it's own. No complaints from band members about being too quiet.

I guess your signal chain was something like bass>pedalboard>DI>ABY splitter>then the amps? Or was the DI after the splitter? Also, which splitter did you use? And, last question, what else changed when you played the Rumble by itself? That is, Did you simply remove the splitter, or did you remove the DI also, or ...?

So, I finally grabbed a Rumble 500 and a 115 cab. I’m quite impressed. It’s funny how you’re attitude can change. Back when I was young ( the 80’s), I had a Peavey head and a couple of large Traynor cabs. It sounded ok but more importantly, it looked big! When I got back into playing about 15yrs ago, I thought, “that was silly, I just want a good combo.” I bought a Yorkville 400 combo and it was fine. Now, I really don’t like having to cart 80lbs around in one box (bad knees, back, etc). This set up is just the ticket, super light and sounds great! I’ll be heading out to jam with it for the first time tonight. We’ll see how it goes.
Oh ya, can I have a number please??? View attachment 3378453

Hey there G-Dog! Could I get a number please? I posted back in April when I picked up a 500 head and 1x15 cab. Since then I grabbed an older 410 Rumble cab as well. Awesome sound!

You're quite correct, I'm sorry! wrenchy, you are now member #1114 in the Fender Rumble Club. Welcome aboard, and thanks for persisting. This is a very busy place and, occasionally, a post or two gets overlooked. I admit, I've tried to be a second pair of eyes to help Gravedigger Dav in the past but, obviously, I don't catch everything, either!

You have a very nice solution to the "I like 15s, but the 200 combo is not enough power" conundrum! And with a 410, you will definitely be heard!!! :D BTW, when you say you got "an older Rumble 410 cab", do you mean the black metal grille V2 at 4 ohms? Just curious.

Rumble On!
.

Thanks! The 410 has a different Fender emblem and different texture tolex but has the same specs as a new one.

Hello fellow Rumblers.

I am interested in getting a footswitch to turn the OD on and off, onstage. I looked at the Fender offering (the Economy model) and was disappointed to find that the cable is only approximately 4 feet long.

Have you guys found this problematic? Sometimes I play large stages, not sure I would want to have to go back to within 4 feet of the amp to turn it on.

Has anyone tried another footswitch? Bought an extension? Or just grin and bear it?

Thanks!

John

I use this one. It has 12 feet of cable plus a red LED so that you can easily see if your OD is on or off. They run about $35.00, so are a bit more expensive.

I have one of these latching switches from Saturnworks. Looks great, works fine.

A 1/4” TS female to 1/4” TS male extension should work just fine. It’s just looking to see contact closure.

Got this from Sweetwater for less than $14. The cable is at least 12 feet.
