Fender Rumble Club

Its black. 1x15. Has a red light option. I guess its the V1. I dont have any good pics of it other than these...View attachment 558205 View attachment 558206

That's absolutely a V1 Rumble... I auditioned one before I bought my old Crate back in 2003. I think Guitar Center flogged the snot out of it, because I was not impressed at the time. LOTS of folks use them and sound great, but the one I tried out buzzed and rattled something fierce...

Big Box stores and quality on the floor are NOT synonyms...

Uh... Seriously doubt it.

The first two Rumble versions were OK in their own right, but these V3 Rumbles really bring something the earlier models were missing... It's just so easy for me to sound like I know what I am doing with them!

What I'm saying is that the V3 rumbles are so much better than the previous ones, pre-Genz. Genz had developed a really neat line of speakers that was a lightweight ceramic, used them in their Focus series cabs. I have a 410. It sounds great, and despite the power rating, can really take a pounding. It has me wondering if that aspect of Genz technology didn't migrate to the V3's.

Revisiting the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach freeze-out:

Looks like the typical line of tankers waiting to offload at the port of Houston... But yeah, I get it... Wow, that is constipated for sure...

That's Eminence engineering expertise in the Genz cabs, and in the Rumbles. The amp designs are all Fender engineering originals. Dave Lewis was involved with Rumble design from day one, and now he is the head of Fender's engineering department. He's built a team of great people. Just look at the all tube Super Bassman/100t and new hybrid Bassman 500. Not to mention all the many guitar amps, Passport and Expo sound systems. They know what they're doing.

I had a Genz Streamiliner 900 and like this Rumble much more in every possible way. That said, Fender bought and absorbed Genz Benz a year or two ago. And now they are coming out with bass amps like these. Coincidence?
I had a Streamliner 600 and never really liked how muddy the bottom end became when the gain was pushed to overdrive, no such problems with the Rumble Head.

I never owned a Streamliner, but the 900 I have heard being played live leads me to agree with your assessment. I am optimistic that the new hybrid Bassman 500 will be all that the Streamliner should have been, but wasn't.

Not taking sides on the Streamliner thing. My experience was that the stm-900 was uber-powerful, but not very articulate. I even changed tubes in the thing, which improved the midrange. Midrange has been a longstanding complaint regarding these amps - search TalkBass for more info. It does have a lot of low end "push," just like a tube amp, but it's response is slow - like a tube amp - and rather dulled in overall tone - also like a tube amp. Having that amp send me into a tailspin to find the right cab, which was how I ended up with the Focus 4x10. The FCS410 was a fair match, because it does not have a lot of low end on its own. the downside is that the FCS410 is also lacking in high end. the result of that combo was a very dull-sounding combination. I recall providing it as a backline for a show, and all the bass players - including me - were complaining about the lack of high end from that combination. I never found a decent cab for that head, because the STM-900 just wasn't clear. I know it works great for some, but for me, the streamliner 900 was a gooseegg.
To my ears, the Rumble emulates a tube sound, but with all the quickness and punch of a soilid state amp. The rumble 500 definitely does not have that low end "push" that tube amps like an SVT have, but the Rumble 500 V3 is probably the punchiest amp I've ever owned. even so, The Rumble has very deep low end, but still manages to maintain articulation. My bug about the sounds of the Rumble V3 is in the midrange - I'm not a fan of the frequencies chosen by Fender for the two midrange controls. However, overall it works pretty well, and after messing with it for a good while now, I can get pretty much anything I'm after with the Rumble 500v3, combo or head.

And back to the OP - I have not yet heard the 2x10 cab, but if it sounds like the speakers in the combo, I think the cab would sound great driven by the Streamliner. Still, you'd have to be mindful of the power thing, but experienced players are usually not bother by this. :-)
The best pairing I ever heard regarding the 900 was into a Berg 410. I don't know if the Berg 210 gets you anywhere, but I always wanted to try that combination. good luck!

Aaarrrgggghhhhh! I am having a hard time constraining myself.

I know of a couple of 210 cabs in the metro area that I can pick up NOW if I wanted to separate myself from the $$, and Musiciansfriend also has them shipping now...

I do have the money, but my wife and I are trying to pay debt off NOW. (Her laptop gets paid off, and then we dive into paying off the mortgage...).

I have got to hide my debit cards / credit cards and keep my wife with me or else one of these cabs is going to follow me home soon...

And the worst part is there is NO WAY I am really ready talent / skill wise at this point for one. I don't NEED it, I WANT it and there is a huge difference...

Stupid GAS.

Don't do it. The difference between want and need is often vast.

The comfort of paying off debt, and the mental relief that it brings, far outweighs the short gratification of owning something shiny and new.

Bide your time, and when the time is right, take the dive.

Who knows, by then, the V4's might blow this gen out of the water ;)

Meh... So close to out of debt, don't want to slow it down... I probably could pick up a quick side gig to make the scratch, or sell off some excess from elsewhere...

GAS is cruel especially with so many nice choices out there...
