Fender Rumble Club

Thanks again G-Dog! I appreciate you sir.

After playing through the "modified" 4x8, unfortunately I'm going to return it.

#1, its about 4.5 lbs heavier than the original cab design with neo's.
#2, I really would like an 8ohm cab to pair with my 8ohm 112.
#3, Im not digging the tone/sound. To my layman's ears it just sounds boxy and thin with the replacement drivers :(.

I think I could have gotten over #1 and #2 if #3 would have been more in my wheel house.

I get it, Ency. The tone/sound is, after all, what it's about. From what I've read, the Eminence Betas are great speakers. Didn't know they were heavier than the stock Neos, though! But, also from what I've read, it's just as much about the dimensions of the cab working with the speaker parameters, if not even more. That's what I call voodoo magic. 'Course, there seems to be computer programs, if not phone apps, for that these days. :blackeye:

Thanks for the number but I am already member #754.

Man! Guess I was having a really bad old-timers last night. First I couldn't read the word "Eminence" when it was right in front of me. Then I overlooked your Rumble Club number in your signature, even thought I looked for you and EncoremMP in the Membership List!

Nevermind Gravedigger's tales of my drunkenness, at least that woulda been more fun than just being very tired. Am I the only one whose body hasn't adjusted to the time change yet? I'm still waking up an hour early and ready for bed an hour early!

All that to say, member number 1136 will go back in the pot for the next inductee.

Rumble On!

Have you sought help for your MPD problem?

I had to Google it, but it appears that Gravy Davy was making fun of me for issuing you a 2nd Club number and causing you Multiple Personality Disorder. LOL, :roflmao: & har de har har, Dav.

I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm! But the power of this position is just too intoxicating. I try to be more calm and low key, like my predecessors. But, I get to feeling all giddy just at the prospect of inducting another new member and . . . and ... something just comes over me. Then, when I regain consciousness, it's like the number has just issued itself! I have no recollection of participating in the incident, except for reading my alleged own post. I'm told that I may have DID.

So it’s a NAD for me, first one for bass in almost 20 years. Still getting to know it, but very pleased already.

Bringing it to a jam with old friends and band mates tomorrow, so I’ll be acclimating on the fly!

@stonetone7, you are now and forevermore member #1136 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and godspeed!

So, is that, in fact, the Rumble 500 combo you were considering? Bet you didn't have to drop trou after all. Now, don't forget to . . .

Rumble On!

Thanks G-Dawg!

Yup it’s the 500 and it’s astounding. And no, turns out all they wanted was money!

Hey quick question for you guys: I still have the single footswitch for my old Bassman 400 head, which activated its parametric EQ section. Do y’all suppose it would work for the the Rumble OD? I’m kinda hesitant to try it out.
It should work fine - the footswitch is just going to "on/off" whatever the amp is setup to send. EQ on your old Bassman and now OD on your Rumble.

AND excellent choice! Have been loving my 500c since I got it. Light, loud and tone for days! Congrats!

Hey y'all, I'm looking for the discussion about using the 800 head with the impedance switch set to 2ohms but with a 4 or 8 ohm load, specifically, I understand that the peak output is limited when doing this and am trying to find the output wattage when this happens. Thanks for helping me find that! (I've already tried to look through the wiki and used Google, but wasn't successful yet.)

Concerning using the OD as a "mute" button...I've found that his works well. However, there is a loud crack if I unplug my bass while the amp is on, even with the mute button engaged. However, there is no crack if I unplug my cable from the amp while it is on, with the mute button engaged.

Have others found this, too?

John
Sorry for the slow reply John, but neither my Rumble 100 combo nor my Rumble 800 head crackle when I use the zero-overdrive-mute trick. I mean, you're sure it was on zero and not simply near zero, right? Also, I tried both methods of engaging the overdrive, using the button and using a footswitch, both amps were silent when plugging/unplugging my (18-volt and 9-volt active) basses. I didn't try it with a passive bass, but can't imagine how that could make it worse.

Oh... and you're not shorting the tip of the jack (to the sleeve) with your fingers either, right?

Anyway, I hope you've got it sorted out by now.
