Fender Rumble Club

The usual settings on my R500 head, at least for our practice space through a 115 cab. If I have two cabs the master gets a bit lower otherwise it'll take your head off.
Bass is an ibby GWB35, down in drop A land and almost always with distortion. Its pretty crushing.

That would be seriously loud.

All this talk about EQ has got me thinking about the “Rumble Flat EQ.” I tried it at home once, but kind of wrote it off as too crunchy/gritty.

Welp, just for gits n shiggles, I tried it out at rehearsal last night. (TBH mine was closer to 10/2/2/10.) SO. FREAKIN. GOOD! Very tight and punchy, thick and rich, but not boomy or flabby. It reminded me of a GK MB combo; not exactly the sound, but the response & transition of fingers-to-speaker.

I know I’ve posted a lot of EQ settings the past few months. It’s not that each setting is better than the last; it’s that they ALL sound good! I’m personally finding they are very versatile, and buy the “one trick pony” narrative less and less.

5 years ago today I got my Rumble 200 combo (plus an Am.Std Precision) pushed the vintage switch on, all controls at noon & left the yellow carboard advert were it was and found this club :hyper:. It was a good day :D and I still love this bass & combo today, though I think my warranty has just run out :D

Well, having never turned my R200c beyond 12, I feel much more comfortable now that I know I have plenty left, and that you are wearing earplugs!:woot:

haha, yep. I play in a metal band and we're bass/guitar/drums and vocals so I'm basically rhythm guitar and the guitar player knows how to eq and sit on top of my madness pretty well. So, it works out pretty good. When I have two cabs with this amp the master ends up sitting around 10 or so otherwise I drown out the very loud drummer.

Hello Rumblers. Had a Rumble 100 v3 a few years back and got rid of it wanting a 200 v3. Never happened but back with a Stage 800 and 112 v3. Gigged the Stage 800 with a 3 piece blues Friday and 5 piece Country/Rockablly Saturday and was impressed.
Hi there dch..welcome. Wish I had hung out a couple years longer before buying my 500C as I woulda loved one of those Stage 800's..never mind..im happy with the 500C and the ext 115 cab..has volume and clarity that goes on forever loll
