Fender Rumble Club

Can you send those in installments. Don't think I can handle the whole shmillion in one fell swoop. It'll probably send me over the edge as I'm pretty unstable right now. ;-)

Fixed it for you. Yeah, they rhyme, but that is the full extent of their relationship. There is, as yet, still no single agreed conversion rate between the lower Slobovian shmackeroon and any other world currency. :whistle:
.
Ok. I just re-read your response more closely and on a bigger screen. Was the correct answer actually Linnin? It's not like I'm giving back any of those schmackeroons, but with all of the effort you put into this contest(along with the non-response) I want to get it right.

The T-totally correct response, as @Linnin is my witness (literally!), is/was:

What is Rooster009's Rumble 100?
Bonus: Posted in TB's Rumble Club on May 8, 2014.

But, you were close enough and it was way past time to put this deceased equine down. :rolleyes: Thank you, again for playing and being such a gracious winner! :thumbsup:

I'm pretty certain @Linnin is not gonna be joining Thunderbird Club.:rollno:

I thought I would post about my new Rumble 100!

I've been playing on a small 1x8 25 watt amp since starting out a year and a half ago - and I after considering a few models I decided to pick this up from an area music store.

It sounded great with everything set to 12 o'clock in the store with my Yamaha TRBX605, and I have to say I was a bit unsure later when I tried it at home in my practice room. I don't have a very experienced ear for all the nuances of different models of amps, but I became concerned that I was hearing some "boom" or "muddiness" described by some. I found out with some experimentation that different placement can make a huge difference in the tone/balance, and I have been having much more success primarily by getting it away from any walls. I did some basic recording comparisons with my smaller amp compared to the Fender, and I can definitely hear the classic Fender tone from the Rumble 100 as compared to the other. I really like the tone I am getting now, and I am looking forward to trying it later this week for a small musical pit group I will be playing with during the next couple of weeks.

I also have been liking the sound more when running my bass through a Sansamp BDDI direct into the input of the amp. I may also experiment with running it into the effects return to bypass the preamp. I mainly use the Sansamp to boost and "warm up" the signal a bit from the Yamaha as it has a lower output when used passive, so I still want to make use of the Fender preamp when needed. I also use the Sansamp when I play at our church since we run direct to the board there - its become part of my preferred sound with the TRBX605.

I will be following this thread as I also start to look through the Rumble Wiki page. Looks like a very fun group!

Are you still giving out numbers?

Did I end up on the Thunderbird Club site somehow? "Feels like I'm steppin' into the Twilight Zone." :woot:

Everytime I hear the word "Thunderbird", I use to think of the car or the song by one of my favorite bands...that Litlle Ol' Band out of Texas.

Now I think of the Gibson Thunderbird bass...

Here's to GonePlaid and all the other Thunderbird owners and lovers.:bassist:

Congrats on your Rumble! And that Yamaha is beautiful!
I, too, love the sansamp bddi - love the warmth it adds.

Welcome to the club! :thumbsup:

Sho 'nuff, Buehler, we just got a fresh batch of bright, shiny, new numbers delivered. @FerrisB you are now member #1180 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome! Please tell us more of your Rumbling journey past, present and future.

If you've been checking out the Rumble Club Wiki page, linked in my signature, then you're off to a great start getting to know your Rumble. Let me especially recommend the Rumble Talks, for the info on Gain Structure, Tone Tips, Boundary Reinforcement, Overdrive Gain Drive Level To Taste, and Rumble Overdrive as Mute Switch, and the Rumble Club TONE Pool of settings to try out (and enter your preference). And feel free to ask, or discuss, whatever topics cross your mind. Here at The Club, we wanna help, if we can. And we wish nothing more than for us all to . . . .

Rumble On!

Rumbler #888 checking in to report that I’ve added a brand new 2x10 Rumble cab to pair with my 500c combo. I’ve taken it out of the box, hooked it together and tested it to make sure it was operable (of course it was). I’m super excited to have the ‘complete’ rig and full 500 watts available. I wish I would have picked up the cab a long time ago! I need to take the feet off the combo, to get it to couple with the cab. At least, this is my interpretation of the instructions in the manual.

Luvs me some ZZ-and would love to hear Dusty on a TBird.

Beautiful rig there!
Doing the same myself, but on the affordable side with my 305, using a Behringer VDI in front with great success!
Boominess could be tamed with isolation (stands), a bit of lining inside the cab (got a pic of mine somewhere in the thread, can repost if needed) and the ultimate weapons are rolling off the bass (sometimes with a bit low mid boost) or getting a HPF!

Thanks for the welcome and number! The rumble wiki page is awesome and I will continue to learn and experiment as I get to know this amp.

For those that use an outboard preamp like a SansAmp - are there significant preferences regarding where to use this? Seems to me there are three main ways - and I will start experimenting myself too:
1. Bass->SansAmp->input
2. Bass->SansAmp->effects return (bypass Rumble preamp)
3. Bass->input->SansAmp (effects send/return loop)

Initially I have been using the SansAmp between my bass and amp input to blend a bit of the SansAmp warmth along with a slight output level boost since the passive setting of my TRBX605 seems to have a lower output. I am not significantly using the EQ of the SansAmp- it is mostly flat with moderate clean drive blended at around 50-60%.

Again - I will be experimenting more as I learn about the rumble 100, but I was wondering about experiences others have had using an outboard preamp in any of the ways mentioned. (or others?)

Thanks - glad to be here!

Gee, Mood, when the speaker manual says, "We recommend removing any casters from bass speaker cabinets to extend your bass response by coupling the cabinet more closely to the floor.", I don't think that also applies to the rubber feet on your combo. :confused:
