Fender Rumble Club

I haven't posted in the Rumble Club for a light-year or two, but I'm so happy with this new pairing I thought I'd show it off. Maybe someone else has updated a Fender grill as I did, but it's still cool and meets exactly what I wanted out of it.

I purchased a Rumble 115 cabinet late last week, knowing the 210 cab would size up perfectly and look like a twin, but decided that I wanted the 15 because I love 'em and thought it'd work perfectly with my new Orange Terror Bass amp. That being said, I still would like to use it with the Stage 800, but not with the grill looking the way it did. It's like wearing white loafers with black pants. I quite pleased how it turned out, but the best question came from my wife this afternoon when she came into my music room and asked, "Is this gonna be loud?" :help:

I stuck my PJB Double Four in there for scale. View attachment 3878826 View attachment 3878827
Awesome job there! Looks fantastic! Now you're ready to shake the house off the foundation! :woot:

So how does that Rumble 115 sound hooked up with the Terror Bass??

Thanks, Mr. b! OMG, I just played the two together with my violin bass first and then my Jazz. The Rogue has lower output pups and a fat low-mid, so it was pretty big and boomy but still maintained its woodiness I like. The Jazz has much more output and, as you said, shook the house. #2 asked whether she should buy industrial headphones and I replied, "Yes."

As far as the TB is concerned, I haven't gotten to hook it up yet. I'm recording a song with, as G'Dog as named it, "The Dark Castle," and then swap out the Stage 800 for the Terror Bass. I'm really looking forward to hearing what that rig sounds like as I purposely bought the 115 with the Orange in mind.

Again thank you kindly for asking!

And thank you again, @Droopy_TX. A link to your post above describing the GTX-7 Footswitch and comparing it to the MGT-4 has been added to the Rumble Club Wiki page in the middle of the Stage & Studio Links section. This will be a great help to those of us considering the footswitch upgrade!

Dang, DROO! ... ... Keep up the good work!
.

Oops! Apparently I didn't actually add the link to DROOPY's comparison of the MGT-4 and GTX-7 footswitches to the Rumble Club Wiki page in the middle of the Stage & Studio Links section, like I said I did. Sorry. Musta been an oldtimer's moment.

I have now rectified that omission. I think. Please advise if this is not the case! :smug:

I order Fender amp jacks from Parts Is Parts (Fender Amp Parts | Parts Is Parts - Guitar Parts, Amplifier Parts, Korg Keyboard Parts). They're not very expensive. You'll need a solder sucker (and iron of course) to desolder each pin from the circuit board one at a time, but that gets easier after you've done it once or twice. Sorry for the crummy photo, but here's one such jack in its original packaging:

View attachment 3878502 View attachment 3878515

You can also get it here for $7.95: Fender Jack Rumble - stereo 0062765049 0062765000

Don't let the "stereo" descriptor throw you off. It's just an extra set of contacts for grounding the input when nothing is plugged in.
[Edited for completeness]
I knew when I posted that someone would have a plan B.
I talked to several techs and parts people. They all said the same thing. And the Riley site didn’t show anything. And yet there it is.
Thanks for the solid info.

Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

You're welcome, Modeling Rumblers! I have added a link to the Fender GTX-7 Footswitch Manual, extracted from the Mustang GTX-50 & 100 Manual, to the Rumble Club Wiki page near the middle of the Stage & Studio Links section. I hope this will help anyone thinking about getting one of these, as I just did.

I commend you to better modeling through Rumbles!

Now, go forth and . . . .

Rumble On!

Ssssoooo, after some time with my 200c, some soul searching and some honest assessments of what I like to hear and where I’m going with my music I decided to return it to Guitar Center, today.

So I did ... and swapped it for a 500c (that was out on the floor as their last in stock so it only cost me $20 more)! I’ve always been more into multiple 10’s and this didn’t disappoint me one bit. Now I’m already looking forward to stacking it onto the 210 cab.

Whoa! Dude! Score! A direct hit! Such a deal!!! $20 upgrade from a R200c to a R500c?!? :hyper:
.

It’s always great to get a deal. This one does have a small, shallow dent across the left top edge and a couple of scuffs on the side. The kind of stuff only I’ll notice, and within the realm of normal use. Still warrantied, of course.

No big deal...more than twice the power for $20 more, good for you! Now just add a 115 Cab and rock (Rumble) on ;).

Ok, here's the latest evolution in the 115 cabinet's short life so far. I finished recording "Where is the Love" this morning with the Rumble Twins Dark Tower setup and now am moving onto the Terror Bass/115 cab. Even though I originally used the Ampeg and then moved to the Stage 800 for "Eye of the Tiger," I plan on re-recording it with the Orange and Fender rig.

I've been getting great tips from as far as the Rhineland on how to make an in-sync A/V recording. I'm gonna give it all a try, including some fantastic directions from Droopy_TX over in the digital wing of the Rumble Club. This is what I see will be the main use of the new bass cabinet, but as I told 'Doggie yesterday, if I was left with only one rig in my stable, I could easily use the Stage 800/115 cab for everything; practice and playing out. It was that impressive. This setup looks pretty darned good too!

That's kinda like what happened to me. I bought a used 200c from GC, but when I took it home, it didn't work. So I took it back and asked them to fix it and they said they could only give me my money back. They did however offer me 20% off on a new one if I wanted to do that. So, I took 'em up on their offer and bought the 500c for $480. They were so nice that when I decided to go ahead and get the 210 cab, they gave me 20% off on that too. Such was the first steps down the dark path of Rumbles. I now own those two items, plus a 100c, a Studio40 and a 112 cab. You could say they made a smart decision to give that discount. I bought the 100c and the 112 cab used though from private individuals, though.

Thank ya kindly, sir! Just finished running the Jazz through and now, before supper, am gonna try the violin bass. So far, so good. And I am considering updating the corner covers with something a little less silver and more black. Otherwise, I'm good for the duration.

Bluzlvr, you are indeed the Royal Rumbler yourself with all that Fender gear. For fun this week, we've kicked around the idea of running the Studio40 into something big like your 500c and finding out what that sounds like. If you're in the mood this weekend, go ahead and let us know what you thought. BTW, nice score on the gear!
