Fender Rumble Club

Howdy @G-Dog!
As promised, here are the pictures proving my ownership of a freaking awesome Fender Rumble Studio 40 - I respectfully request membership into this most august of clubs. I will proudly add my number to my signature and preach the Gospel of Rumbleness to all!

Of course Davie504 requested I SLAP IT, but I needed the correct setting:

Rob Zamites (rhymes with "The Mighties"?), you've indeed "got the goods", there! @rzamites, you are now member #1236 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations, welcome, and thank you for your patience, understanding and discretion. All attributes that will serve you well getting to know your Rumble Studio 40. I believe I've already introduced you to the Rumble Wiki and the Stage & Studio sub-thread. So, don't hesitate to let us know if anyone of us can help you any further. And enjoy your Studio, as we all simply love to . . . .

Rumble On!

Thank you so much! And Zamites rhymes with "Zam-A-Tease" :)

@GlennA did a more precise analysis of “Rumble Flat;” but 10/2/2/10 is my own personal take on that (just easier to remember! :woot: )

Around the house I like the knobs flat (12/12/12/12) but that 10/2/2/10 just sings in a band setting
I can vouch for that. It worked great for me, back when I was gigging.

On a side note, where'd you score that sweet instrument cable? I want one!
Ahh yes, the Spectraflex "Fatso Flex" cables. It always surprises me how many people ask about those :)

I purchased two of them about 10-years ago, and they are still like new. VERY easy to coil up and stow away, no kinks, well made and not terribly priced considering the build quality. The two I have are red/black, and blue/black. The red is for those stages where people have to walk past my gear (making the cable more noticeable) and the blue-- because I like it-- and to differentiate between the two.

Some real nice cables with cool colors/patterns.

What's the deal with keeping the Gain turned down?

Sorry guys, I'm late to the party here.
It’s not a question of keeping the gain turned down - more a question of not turning it all the way up. On Rumbles, the amp still works with the gain control turned all the way down, so the gain is mainly used to control the input level.

Congratulations! I can attest to the awesomeness of the Studio 40! I've never owned an amp with this much flexibility - literally every tonal option available to bass players these days is there to be had. The only bad thing I've found since I took ownership of one (and it's really not bad) is that practice time has doubled - no, make that tripled :woot: just cause it's SO DARN FUN! The presets are great, but I've discovered the real fun comes in making your own presets - or tweaking existing presets to meet your needs. I originally thought I'd be overwhelmed with the "tech" involved - but Fender has made this very intuitive and found myself comfortable with navigating around the functionality quickly. And the Fender Tone App is wonderful - makes pretty simple even more so.

Hope you enjoy yours! :bassist:

I am enjoying mine but, I have found there is a "rabbit hole" that is tempting to go down.

If I had one bass and one type of music to play through my Studio 40, I could probably find a few presets to, initially satisfy the "tone in my head". Problem is, the more basses and genres of music you like, the more you can compare yourself to a chef with 10 recipes for the same dish.

By the time you have done 5 recipes, you have forgotten how the first one was and that is the "rabbit hole", says a GOF! Can the chef ever get to the 10th?

I absolutely understand my brother, but I recently learned how to make set lists - where I can store all recipes(settings) say for a certain day in a "set list" - then recall that set list at will. And I agree on the "rabbit hole" - I'll hear a certain preset and immediately be piping in music from that genre to jam along with.

Gentlemen, may I respectfully suggest you review the DETAILED Presets Templates in "The DROOPY_TX Preset Experience" of the TONE App Support section of the Rumble Club Wiki page, linked in my signature? There are PDF and spreadsheet files that show the DETAILED settings for each of the 100 stock presets on the Stage & Studio amps, and there are blank rows where you can fill in your own new settings! Either print out the PDF version and write on the printout, or use the spreadsheet on your PC to record your settings.

And, please remember, that the Rumble LT25, Studio & Stage sub-thread is specifically intended for such discussions. :D
