So, the crackle could be from using the "Aux In", or even from the device connected to the "Aux In"? But still mostly when you play somewhere on your E string?

Is it also mostly when using the "Aux In" to play a backing track? So, when playing the lowest notes, eh? The infamous scratchy volume pot usually only does that when turning it, which is not usual while playing. It might be worth turning the cab over and over in case there's something loose rolling around between the speaker cone and frame which might fall out if tipped just right. If that doesn't help, then perhaps a warranty check is in order.

Good for you, Bob! What wireless system did you get? I've got an old cheap-o GC special that goes through batteries like a house afire, and keeping the big-ish transmitter clipped to my bass strap is a bit fiddly, too. For those reasons it's fallen into disuse. But the new, sleek rechargeable models lately look much more interesting to me.

Sorry for the response lag. Family Stuff. I got the BCMaster K380 system. Runs on rechargeable L ion batteries. They last about 2/2.5 hours which is a good practice for me. The sound is surprising. These old ears cannot tell any difference between cables and the wireless. Of course I am not 100 feet away either. But onthe bright side I am not tripping over cables pedals etc. For the price I am happy with them. The wireless was about the same price as a decent pair of cables.

The Zoom B3 and MS-60B have an effect called the Exciter which is supposed to emulate the Sonic Maximizer. I've never used it, but maybe some others on here have tried it.

I actually have used that effect on my MS60b, I didn’t know what it supposed to be emulating, but it adds presence and gives a nice articulate sound. I used it more like a boost. I think I need to go back and experiment with it again.

I have this little thing-y, which has an exciter effect on it. I'll re-battery it and give it a go.

Cool, Bob! That looks great, and the price is right, too. Also looks like that same K380 system goes by other brand names, too. IF I ever get to play out again, I'll need to try 'em out for myself. Thanks for sharing. Please keep us updated on how they work out.

. I have become an extremely aggressive player just like on my sax playing. I think that is the problem. It is doing it with the aux in not being used too. When I play with no other music no problem. When I solo over a drummer it happens. I pluck with the touch of a rapist I guess.

I have one of these haven't used it in ages, must look for it this weekend and try it out again. I used mine as a headphone amp for, those late night practice sessions .

They weren't selling as well as 2x10 or 1x15. Meanwhile, mine is gathering dust as I have no place to use it.
(not really, it's covered). I prefer 12's over 10's, but my main amp was a R200c-until I bought a R100. I only had 1 place I could use the 200c/112cab and we don't play there any more. [actually, we don't play anywhere any more-effing virus]

+1. I'm with you and have been searching for one on the used market. Obviously folks that own one feel the same way as it's near impossible to find one. Very popular cab - Fender needs to reissue!

I have to say that I've tried other 12'' cabinets, like Markbass and Ampeg, that are more popular than this one (and more expensive) and I always felt that the Fender sounded better everytime.
Honestly, I fell that they discontinnued this cab much too quickly and didn't leave enough time for players that are used to other gear to really give it a try.
Sometimes people suffer from gear prejudice (as any guy that doesn't have an american Fender can tell...) and since these cabs were cheap and made in China and were of the Rumble line, maybe people felt that they didn't provide as well as other brands. But I have it rocking regularly for the past 5 years, and only last year it played almost 200 gigs without any problems.
So I agree with you that this one should be reissued and I'll get another one as soon as possible.

I've been playing bass since I was 16 but music has been in my life for a long time. I started to learn piano at 6 years old and at 12 I started to learn how to play classical guitar. But at 16 my mom received some extra money and asked me and my brother what did we want. My brother got a drum set and I asked for a bass and an amp and started playing since then.
I got into a lot of local bands and when I went to the univerity to get my degree I also started a band with some friends and we got to play all over Portugal at the time. We even got a record deal at the time.
But after I got my degree and started to work, I stopped playing for around 10 years. Then, in 2014 a friend of mine that was in on of my former bands aske me if I wanted to fill in for the bass player that was going to work abroad for 6 months and I did. After that I never stopped and since then I played with a lot of diferent bands and diferent musicians, mainly in covers bands.
I got my Fender Rumble in 2015. I started playing more regularly with a covers band and back then I had a 4x10 Gallien Kruegger that was a great cabinet but weighted a ton. I started to research for lighter and smaller cabs that could be more portable and more suited for gigging in diferent places during the week. Then I found about the Rumble 112 v3 that was released at the time. I read a lot of reviews and decided to try it and since then it has been a trusted companion along my musical path.
