No, I haven’t called Fender, but my experience with them is that the people you get on the phone know less about their own products than most of the customers who actually use them everyday. I think the collective of talkbass is far more knowledgeable.

Thank you, but I’m asking about comparing the space for the heads in the 500 combo vs the 200 combo - if the heads are the same size and screw in the same way. I’d like to maybe put a Rumble 500 combo head into a Rumble 200 combo cabinet if possible and make a more pwerful 1x15 combo.

You are quite right about the collective at talkbass which is why I mentioned the differences in enclosure sizes.

I am with you, maybe some members can measure the external size of the amp section in 200 Combo and 500 Combo. My 200 Combo is 17 5/8" w x 7 1/8" H. Just checked, the two Combos are identical in size.

Here's a cropped pic of both the 200C & 500C, are the only mounting bolts those five along the bottom?

These are inexpensive products, though, so you might want to prepare for the scenario where the combo is not physically solid enough even if the speaker element is the same as in the extension cabinet. The 115 cabinet weighs more than the 200 combo even though there is no amp inside. Could be that is because of more bracing to handle more power.

Seems all the 500 heads have been sold and unavailable!:rollno:

The recessed handles on the 115 Cab add approx. 2 lbs. alone. The wheels add a bit more.

Good point but all those still most likely don't equal the weight of the amplifier. In any case, I do not know first hand but it is a possibility that should be considered in my opinion. Maybe there'll be zero issues but also maybe it requires a bit of additional woodwork.

IIRC, if they're physically the same size and the difference in weight would be miniscule, there should be only one reason it wouldn't work. Availability.
ETA: As I understand the situation, the idea is to take the 'head' portion of a 500C and put it in the cab portion of a 200C. In other words, a swap. Or half a swap. A 'sw'.
