Fender Rumble Club

Well, more and more cleaning and working of the pots and tone buttons, it works. Until I bump or engage the Vintage switch, then it's back to scratchy nonsense. It goes back to normal if I put lateral pressure on the swirch. Does anyone know where to source these switches? I'm going to replace the Vintage switch and the remnant of OD switch.
Edit: I found suitable replacement switches. I'll stop rambling, regarding my Rumble.

This thing is sweet, it's light for what it is, sounds awesome, what a convenient combo it is!
Get at it man! I think the whole club is behind you!!

Au contraire, 'Cuda. We actually encourage "rambling about our Rumbles", or Rumbling, here! ;)

Please tell us about those suitable replacement switches as soon as you confirm them. You never know who else might benefit from your pioneering efforts. In the Rumble Modifications section of the Rumble Club Wiki page we already have a link to a replacement on/off switch. Yours could be another valuable addition to this useful Rumble knowledge base!

Absolutely, will do. I've got a few switches in the mail. Mine obviously has been wet, my best guess is that a broken part of the spring was moving around in there and making connections that shouldn't happen.

Thanks, fellas!

Part of me wants to know where to even source this entire preamp/control board, if possible.

My experience a year ago or so with my Rumble 40 bears out what @dirkhh said. I found out that the boards are not sold in the consumer market. In my case, fortunately, it turned out that the board wasn't the issue with my R40. It was the power switch that had failed, and they are available on the market, so I replaced it. But thinking at first that it might be the board, I learned you can't get replacements for it and you'd have to take it to one of their service centers.

Ouch! Poor, mistreated little Rumble! :woot: From the looks of things you're lucky anything works at all, 'Cuda.

Almost certainly Fender proprietary and therefore either not available at all or only to Invalid Link Removed

dirk & John, I do believe you're right, the Rumble preamp/control boards are almost certainly bound to be proprietary and available only to Authorized Fender Service Centers (AFSC).

'Cuda, you could always see what an AFSC would charge to clean and repair it for you. But, I'll actually be a bit surprised if you've even found suitable replacement switches for the Vintage button, but I sure hope you do! Please keep us informed of your progress.

Hello folks! I'm a proud Rumble 500 combo owner, and I just recently acquired a fairly new but non-functional Rumble 200 v3 combo FOR FREE. The guy who gave it to me told me that it just quit working on him. No sound, nothing, it just stopped working, period. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this amp?

There are many here who are more expert than I am on this, but I'll mention the thing that was the problem on my Rumble a year or so ago. How 'bout the on/off switch (power button)? Does it properly "click" when you turn it on and off? My on/off switch failed, so I had no sound when I turned it on (because it wasn't really turning "on"). I was able to replace the switch.

zmey! Show us a pic if your Rumble(s) and get a free membership number!

As for the 200, it's a very long shot but, try plugging your bass, with its volume turned all the way down, into the FX Return jack on the back. Then slowly turn up the bass volume and see if you get anything. If so, then try running the plug in & out of the jack several times. There's a switch inside the jack that can, on occasion, get corroded and bypass the preamp. Slim chance, but worth a try.

I already have a number. I am 881. It's been a while since I've posted. I'll try this and see what happens! Thanks!

Hi fellow rumblers... this is my first post here.

I play in a covers band using my 200 combo V3 and find it adequate... although sometimes I wish it had just a little more mid/punch in the mix. I've played with the eq settings and managed some improvements, but I'm considering buying an extension cab...either the 212 or the 410... I'm not sure what to go for and would appreciate any advice from those who have already travelled the path.

Just for further background... my band is a 4 piece. Two guitarists, one using a Marshal DSL40 which can get a bit willing at times... thankfully my trusty rumble 200 holds its own, but I've normally got the master vol sitting at 12 o'clock.. am I driving the amp too hard?

Thanks in advance! Wish I'd have known about this page sooner!

Get the rumble 2*10 cab! Perfect fit both visually and soundwise.
Or get another r200c (or r500c), and daisy chain them when you need more power.
