Fender Rumble Club

Hi fellow rumblers... ... I play in a covers band using my 200 combo V3 and find it adequate... although sometimes I wish it had just a little more mid/punch in the mix. ... but I'm considering buying an extension cab...either the 212 or the 410... I'm not sure what to go for and would appreciate any advice from those who have already travelled the path. ... ... Thanks in advance! Wish I'd have known about this page sooner!

Sorry, Skeezy, if you saw our references to a Rumble 212, but that's only a wish, so far, not an actual product.
.
Get the rumble 2*10 cab! Perfect fit both visually and soundwise. ... Or get another r200c (or r500c), and daisy chain them when you need more power.

The 210 cab is the OCD pick for matching boxes. The 115 is the audiophile pick for matching speakers (exact same) and getting the much sought-after "coupling effect". See the Rumble Summary Info section of the Rumble Club Wiki page for a listing of all the combos & cabs.

Another combo is both for reinforcement when needed, or back-up if needed! See the Connecting Combos Together section of the Rumble Club Wiki page for details.
.
I hadn't considered the 210... actually didn't know this was an option! And certainly have never considered daisy chaining combos... didn't know you could do that! Thanks!

Glad you finally found us. Show us a pic of your Rumble and get a free membership number.

Could I daisy chain this broken 200 combo with my 500 to use the 200 as an extension cab?
If the 200 turns on, you can run a cable from effects send on the 500 to effects return on the 200. In this case you are bypassing the 200's preamp section. If the 200 is working you'll get a fuller(not necessarily louder)sound from the pairing. Just don't over drive the 200-use yer ears to determine how loud is too much. All controls-tone, volume, etc.-will be set from the 500. Because you're bypassing the preamp on the 200, its controls-other than on/off-are also bypassed. In other words, the 200 becomes a powered extension.

Hi fellow rumblers... this is my first post here.

I play in a covers band using my 200 combo V3 and find it adequate... although sometimes I wish it had just a little more mid/punch in the mix. I've played with the eq settings and managed some improvements, but I'm considering buying an extension cab...either the 212 or the 410... I'm not sure what to go for and would appreciate any advice from those who have already travelled the path.

Just for further background... my band is a 4 piece. Two guitarists, one using a Marshal DSL40 which can get a bit willing at times... thankfully my trusty rumble 200 holds its own, but I've normally got the master vol sitting at 12 o'clock.. am I driving the amp too hard?

Thanks in advance! Wish I'd have known about this page sooner!
The 210 sounds great with my 200 and the cabs match up.

IF the FX Send from the 500 to the FX Return of the 200 works (for your damaged 200) then you don't have to worry about overpowering the 200 because its own power amp is driving it full out at a maximum of 140 watts (and the speaker is rated for 300 watts!). And, like Goner says, the 500 will control the tone and volume of the 200!

Otherwise, you'll have to either fix the 200 or turn it into just a 115 cab via methods described in the "Separating Combo Amps & Speakers" links the Rumble Modifications section of the Rumble Club Wiki page.

Good luck!

Just suggesting exercising caution. Like, Don't dime it.

While caution is always a good idea, in this case of the built-in power amp of the 200 driving its own speaker there shoulda (coulda, woulda) been no chance to overpower that speaker.

It is my understanding, IIUC, that when the preamp of the 200 (including Master Volume) is bypassed by using the FX Return then the full power of the 200s power amp is engaged (it is dimed!). It is then only the strength of the signal going to the FX Return, controlled by the 500 amp, that determines the volume that the 200 amp produces (up to the limit of the 200s power amp, but not beyond).

Does anyone understand this situation differently? :wideyed:

Looking at the schematic posted earlier here that seems like the only reasonable conclusion...

First time posting on the website in general, tell me if I do something wrong!

I painted The grill of my Rumble 25 with Krylon Colormaxx (satin black) spray paint like Bass Man Dan did in this thread. It looks great in my opinion! It does look better in person. None of the holes in the threads have been filled and it took no time since it dried really fast. I did a couple of light coatings!
I am definitely going to do it on the 200.

Nice "murder" Rumble. On a side note, that Iron Maiden poster, my teenage bedroom, thanks for the unintentional flashback memory.
