Fender Rumble Club

In real estate it's all about location, location, location. In electronics it's all about condition, condition, condition and, of course, functionality. Play through it and see if everything works. $400 is just 67% the new price. If everything works and doesn't look too banged up, it could be a great bargain! If some things don't work or it's very banged up, it may not be a bargain. Most likely it'll be between those extremes and you may need to negotiate, then make your own judgment call. There is no V1 or V3 R500c, only V3.

Casters? Are they necessary? They will add more weight when carrying. But first, check Reverb.com and GuitarCenter.com for their used R500c prices for some ballpark guides.

Hope this helps.

It does. Haven't seen anything below $480 on Reverb and haven't seen any used ones on GC. May get in touch with the seller, even if my wife gets pissed. As I said, I don't need it, but ..... :):bassist:

I love the look of those Banshees. Have often thought about getting me one. I used to have a Schecter bass that I really liked a lot (a C-4).
It plays great. I'm all about shorties now that I'm staring 70 in the face. This one played great right out of the box. One very minor intonation error easily fixed. I restrung it with the La Bella DTF thru-hole set made for MIA Mustangs. They have less tension than the standard 45-105 DTFs I have on my other basses. Love them.

Yeah, BBassy, the new Rocket Bass amps are just now catching up to the Rumbles, without surpassing them. In fact, the Fearless Leader of the Combo Club even thanks Fender for making it happen! It's a clear validation of the Rumble line, alright. ;)

And, yes, some enhancements to the Rumbles would certainly be welcome. We know Fender listens, as can be seen in the Pre/Post switch and other improvements in the 800 HD head over the discontinued 200 & 500 heads. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if Fender refuses to rest on their laurels and may really knock our socks off in the coming year, or so!

I am certainly expecting Fender to vacate me of my feet related clothing for sure. They're not a very stereotypical company. By which I mean even as a market leader for 75 years they seem as focused now as they ever have on putting out good stuff that their customers want. And I think crucially they're (at least here in Ontario) offering the best value. The MIM lineups compete with other manufacturers Indoneasian and Chinese stuff, which Squier undercuts on price. The American stuff is a world cheaper than stuff from EBMM, and on par with Ibanez Premium models (imports) and Godin (Canadian). As for amps they've got the bass side dialed in very well. Again something from Mesa is in another world price-wise compared to Fender. And when they go up against Traynor, Ampeg, and GK they beat them all on sound, looks, price, and weight.

On the guitar amp side things are a bit more competitive, and I bought a Boss Katana 50 because IMO it's better than the 2 Fenders around its price range. Still though they're cleaning up across the board. Their pedals are mostly excellent, and the Fender Mustang Micro is out of this world good compared to something like an AmPlug.

So yeah, I expect we'll see some cool stuff sooner or later for us Rumblers.:bassist:

In what situation is a Rumble 200 preferred over a Rumble 500?

These two amps are exactly the same dimensions, and only 2 pounds apart. And they are not too far apart in price.
The Rumble 200 has a 1x15" speaker vs. the 2x10" speakers in the Rumble 500.
As much as I love my Rumble Stage 800 and its 2x10" speakers, that 1x15" in the Rumble 200 is...
smooooooth!!!!

I have the 200 and the 115 cabinet. Best bass tone ever when the speakers work together. Each speaker works effortlessly with 100 watts each.

Hey all! I bought a Rumble V3 2x10 cab and an old Rumble 500 head. Turns out the head is broken. Tons of distortion and cracking/scratching. Cuts out randomly.

Should I try to get it repaired (out of warranty, no original receipt so no transferrable warranty), or should I go a different direction. If a different direction, can anyone suggest? I'm looking for a modern hard rock tone I guess.

Thanks!

Hi Rumblers
Is it OK to run a 500c turned on its side? I'm playing a session where space dictates this. If it is OK, does it matter which side the amp is on - stage left or stage right - for the best ventilation (the amp will be driven fairly hard)?
thanks

Hey, yakky! Post a pic of either, or both, of your Rumbles and get a free Club membership!

If there's still a problem after (gently) cleaning whatever you can inside. It couldn't hurt to consult an Authorized Fender Service Center, in case it might be a minor fix.

The short answer is "Yes". =1118826']Here are several posts discussing that question. And here is one particularly well reasoned response. I've even done it with my Bassman rig!

As long as there's space behind it, you-and it-will be cool.
