Yep, I 'sharpie' the date on them when they go in. My one active-the LPB2/5 is my least used bass, but with the TBird in the shop, I thought it'd be fun to play the 5er. Shoulda checked the date on the 9v when I was checking everything else out on Saturday. Oops. Fortunately, I had a spare with me. Otherwise, a quick trip to the Walgreens across the street woulda been in order.
I don't think my computer can handle monitoring and recording at the same time. Seems to give me a bunch of dropouts no matter what I use and what settings. As soon as I turn off monitoring, it's much better...
Maybe a little memory upgrade would help. A top command would tell you what processes are eating up processor/memory...

Playback of a backing track itself takes almost 40% of it. Now imagine throwing in recording and monitoring on. Yep. That sucks.

So, you miss that Rumble sound, eh. I know the feeling as I haven't played either of mine at volume for over a year now. But I have faith that my time is coming. And so is yours!
Yes, cap, the R800HD should sound just as good as the Rumble you remember, only more so. They have the same preamp, where the tone comes from, just different power amps. There will be some difference due to the different speakers, but you can work that out, I'm sure. If your Bassman 410 is 8 ohms it ought to handle the 400 watts from the 800 just fine. But if it's a 4 ohm cab it'll pull up to 800 watts! Read on the back of the 410 for impedance and power rating, to be sure.
There are a couple new features to the 800 that you may, or may not, care about. It has a Pre/Post switch for the XLR Line Out and that signal is no longer affected by the Master Volume. And it can handle a 2 ohm load all night long! So, you can plug in up to four 8 ohm cabs, if you want maximum Sound Pressure Level (SPL).

After uploading your pic there should be a "Thumbnail" button and a "Full Image" button for embedding the image. For some reason I don't know, your pic doesn't have those buttons. Maybe it's a different kind of file the TB system doesn't recognize. Try saving it from a photo editor again.

There’s no difference between the preamps in the 800 HD and v3 500 heads, so the sound should be identical.
The only major advantages to the 800HD over the 500 would be the extra power, and the ability for the line out to be pre-EQ.

Good to see the image. For that Jazz Bass, I went with passive Bartolini split coil Jazz set for my build to get away from the noise my Fender JB has. They work perfectly and have, in my view, a slightly different and better tone.
Hmmm ... ... and the buttons on the "Insert every image as a..." section don't embed your original file, either! I dunno what's wrong with that original file.

Because I put it up on soundcloud and it got pulled.
Spent an entire weekend trying to record and when I did it it got pulled down... Sucks. Heh.

I don't record, but I'm guessing copyright issues.(?)
