Yep, I 'sharpie' the date on them when they go in. My one active-the LPB2/5 is my least used bass, but with the TBird in the shop, I thought it'd be fun to play the 5er. Shoulda checked the date on the 9v when I was checking everything else out on Saturday. Oops. Fortunately, I had a spare with me. Otherwise, a quick trip to the Walgreens across the street woulda been in order.I change the battery in my EBMM Classic Sabre once a year whether it’s needed or not (I label the battery with the date on which I installed it, to avoid confusion) and a spare lives permanently in each of my gig bags. Never had one die on me at an inopportune moment, but if I did, it’s an easy fix.
Maybe a little memory upgrade would help. A top command would tell you what processes are eating up processor/memory...I don't think my computer can handle monitoring and recording at the same time. Seems to give me a bunch of dropouts no matter what I use and what settings. As soon as I turn off monitoring, it's much better...
Yeah I think 8gb is enough. It must be the crappy processor, it's a Intel© Pentium© Silver N5000 CPU @ 1.10GHz × 4.Maybe a little memory upgrade would help. A top command would tell you what processes are eating up processor/memory...
I wonder if any of you guys can help...
I owned a fender bassman 100T alongside a fender rumble 200 V3 as my smaller backup.
the rumble 200 blew me away in terms of tone, it always sounded perfect.
It was slightly underpowered for the gigs I do. I ended up selling the bass man 100T as it was big and heavy and not easy to store at home. Plus the rumble sounded great. That vintage button!!!
Anyway I sold the rumble for a change and went with the orange Terror 500, which is nice.
however, I miss that unique rumble tone.
so here are my choices... either but a rumble 800 HD brand new or find a second hand rumble 500v3.
does the 800HD sound exactly the same as the 500v3? Are there any pros to getting the newer 800hd? Or should I be looking for a used 500v3 ?
Also, the cab I use is a bassman 410neo... will this be ok to run as the sole cab with the 800hd or would the 800 be overpowered and risking damage?

I think it just wants to kill itself every time I play a backing track and record with monitoring on...
Playback of a backing track itself takes almost 40% of it. Now imagine throwing in recording and monitoring on. Yep. That sucks.
Plus, how do you embed a photo? Can't seem to get it to insert, only attachment ?
OoooKay?After uploading your pic there should be a "Thumbnail" button and a "Full Image" button for embedding the image. For some reason I don't know, your pic doesn't have those buttons. Maybe it's a different kind of file the TB system doesn't recognize. Try saving it from a photo editor again.
This is a "Thumbnail" embedding: View attachment 4246886
And this is a "Full Image" embedding of a cropped screenshot as I wrote this: View attachment 4246890

There’s no difference between the preamps in the 800 HD and v3 500 heads, so the sound should be identical.I wonder if any of you guys can help...

I opened your pic in a photo editor and saved it again and now this TB upload will embed the newly saved file. Go figure!?!

Also works as "Full Image"

I don't record, but I'm guessing copyright issues.(?)Hey, so one question.
I recorded a cover with a backing track, is there any way to share it anywhere?
Because I put it up on soundcloud and it got pulled.
Spent an entire weekend trying to record and when I did it it got pulled down... Sucks. Heh.
