Those were great space heaters! Mine tried to catch fire at least once and my motherboard model at the time was known for catching fire! lol

Heat management helps. I broke another motherboard pushing an AMD FX8350 to 4.5ghz. The CPU had no issue with it, it'd easily go higher but it just wanted way too much power. I don't know exactly what failed in the Voltage Regulator Module but it stained the board when it went. My current i5 6600k is at 4.6ghz and has been happily whirring along for years as this was one of the last CPUs Intel cared about keeping temps and power draw under control. (I like to think I have a little knowledge on CPUs, as I seem to know enough to realize there's far more to them than I could ever understand.)

I'm hip. (not really) When I say 'all my stuff', I mean bass amps, (passive)PA speakers, Yamaha powered PA mixer, Behringer passive mixer I use to put multiple mics into my JBL EON ONE PA. A coupla things have those Speakon/1/4" inputs.

I just picked up a Rumble 500 this week to replace an Acoustic B600HD head and Markbass New York 121 cab. It joins a Rumble 25 that has seen me through the last few years as a practice amp. I love the sound of the smaller Rumble and the 500 has exceeded expectations too. It is great that the Rumble 500 sounds good at bedroom volumes as well as floor shaking.

Great to find this club and read the threads about extension cabs ( if that is ever necessary ).

A bit about me: I've been playing bass for nearly thirty years and finally settled on short scale about eight years ago because they are easier to play albeit with a slightly different sound. After starting out with a Hofner and a Gibson SG I ended up with the MiM Fender Mustang pictured. The PJ setup is versatile and the action is superb.

I use a compressor and have carried a SansAmp Programmable Bass DI around which is rarely used.

What kind of pedals do people run with their Rumble 500s for live shows?

Welcome, fellow weirdo! I’ll have to get a pic of my pedalboard, but after the tuner, an MXR bass comp, Boss eq, MXR bass distortion, MXR Phase 90, Morley volume, MXR DI.
I have the 100, not the 500. I use the DI to the mixer.

So I had my partner listen to my recording i did yesterday and my partner was giddy like a kid. Apparently I'm super badass and awesome and I QUOTE "oh my God this makes me want to play bass and guitar. I need to put strings on Rory" (we name our guitars).

After mentioning my recording woes with my tiny, puny laptop... Partner said we might need to buy me a high end computer so I can record no problem.

Wooh! That would be cool.
What a day.

I would recommend that you bring your favorite bass with you and try out both.

I have the Rumble 500H (paired with a Rumble 1x15 cab) and really like it. I play Fender P and J's with flatwounds and want a specific old school sound that I get through the Rumble 500H and the full 500W (once I get a second cab) will be more than enough of what I would ever need.

You really can't go wrong with either.... Good luck!

My 200 with 15" extension cab is all I need, right now. I would like to try a C500 some time, just to see what the difference is.
