Fender Rumble Club

I can't be counted as a member, but I'm GASsing for a new rig, and I'm interested in the Rumble series. I primarily play a mix of stoner metal and thrashy type stuff. Think Lamb of God meets Clutch. Would a Rumble 350 or 500 be something to look at? I need something that's tight and punchy, and accepts overdrive well. I apologize if a similar question has been posed; there are just too many pages to sift through. :P

Not familiar with the 350 myself, but I have the 500 combo, and it can do tight and punchy really well... It has it's own built in overdrive that is pretty fine tunable. You can get as smooth, or as nasty with these as you want to.

Tight and punchy = GK or Ampeg
Dark and muddy = Rumble

My Stingray and Schecter sound much better and with more character on the GK than the Rumble. I have both amps.

I've been looking at GK stuff also. I currently have an Ampeg PF350, which I've learned is not the best Ampeg on the planet. I've heard a lot of buzz regarding the Rumbles, so I figured I'd ask the Rumble gods. ;)

I have both amps. The GK just enhances the Music Man sound better. Think Motown with the Fender.

Oddly enough, yes at least the Rumble 500 DOES do Motown type warmth quite well, it can also do punchy attack, it's all in how you set it...

Fender Rumbles are very tight & punchy amps with tremendous tonal versatility. Their modern active four band EQ is very well voiced to give you the best in tone sculpting ability short of an expensive graphic EQ. Their custom designed Eminence woofers are outrageously good. Rumble 500's have been selling faster than Fender can make them and are often out of stock, so it is hard to find one to audition. A Rumble 500 head with a pair of Rumble 115 cabs would be a superb choice for a glorious hard rock rig. A Rumble 500 combo on top of: the newly released Rumble 210 cabinet; or either the Rumble 410 or 115 cabs would be most excellent. Of course the Rumble 500 head on top of a pair of Rumble 410 cabs is top of the line for maximum SPL. Take your pick as you can't go wrong.

Have been waiting three weeks for the local Fender dealer to get a new shipment of amplifiers. Love my Rumble 40 but am in the market for something bigger. Really want to pick up a Rumble 500 combo for my Friday night jam sessions. Some of the other players keep telling me to go elsewhere and just buy something, but I'm holding out. If I'm going to drop that kind of money, it's going to be for something I really want.
