Just figured I would post up a shot of what my Rumble stack looked like last night after spending I figure about a half hour going through the excersizes in the Bass Fitness book. (If you don't have that book I HIGHLY recommend it, those excercizes are REALLY Helping build my strength, dexterity and speed!).
In taking my bass off of me, I managed to knock my hat off, and set it up on the amp, which in turn inspired this Beauty shot...
For anyone interested, that paper on top of the 500 is a print out of the tab for AC/DC's Squealer... And not the most accurate tab either. Ugh.
Oh, and the hat, yes I live in Texas, and yes it IS Rodeo time in Houston! I know Houston Texas isn't exactly a tourist mecca, but if you are travelling to Houston, Rodeo time is THE time of the year to do it!

As a fellow Texas native, I feel obligated to point out to all potential tourists that Houston traffic is just effing terrible.![]()

You are far too kind sir. Effing terrible to describe our Traffic is a complement. 4G coverage is pretty much everywhere though, so just start out something like your favorite iheartradio station and let it play...
It's nice in your area though, Dave. Beautiful neighborhoods.
Says the guy with the Riverwalk, and all those beautiful neighborhoods in his city... I like Houston, I LOVE San Antonio!
I live in Itasca. Actually, I live on ten acres outside Itasca. Google it.![]()
Has anyone made a pedal for the overdrive on the Rumble?
Is it just a momentary N/O switch, or different?
Just buy the Fender one.
I bought the Fender switch on eBay for less than $20.
It has a LED to let you know the overdrive is on.
Great for gigs; I don't have to turn around and look at the head.
JACink is in Spain.Unfortunately my (not so) local dealer has them nearer 40€ + 20€ shipping, so it would cost me around $80 for the pedal. I already have parts at home for free![]()
I don't believe he is in CONUS so cost for the switch is a bit prohibitive for him...
HOWEVER, I believe he is in an EU country, not sure which one, since he mentioned if I recall correctly Euros... I don't recall the name of the company, Thomann or Thormann something like that out of Germany I think it is, seems like a kind of European Sweetwater / MusiciansFriend.com kind of thing... Might be worth looking into.
Not 100% sure of what it would take, but I would think you would need the following components to build a stomp box to do this...
#1. A click on / click off footswitch. SPST most likely.
#2. 1/4" (6.5mm) TS jack.
#3. A properly sized electrical project box / chassis.
#4. "Sufficiently sized" wire, say 16 gauge in red and black or whatever colors you so choose, red and black are the typical for power / ground although other colors can be used, as long as YOU know what is going on...
#5. Crimp on female blade connectors OR NON ACID solder and soldering iron. The latter is the FAR better method.
#6. Electrical tape to manage your wire.
#7. A surface mountable LED to indicate active / inactive for the circuit.
#8. A wiring diagram of what you are trying to accomplish, or not...
#9. A 1/4" (6.5mm) instrument cable to connect switch to amp)
I would think, unless you have those parts in your inventory already, you might be better off money wise just buying the switch.
Need any tape?![]()
Personally I prefer cable ties and heatshrink, but it wouldn't be the first time I have built something just with wire and tape (including a temporary lighting board using household switches and dimmers)
