Fender Rumble Club

In that case, I cannot stress enough, do not use a 300W Rumble 115 cab as a single cab, or one of a pair of cabs! If it gets anywhere close to 400W you can kiss it goodbye. You need no less than three 8 ohm cabs at 267W max each, or four 8 ohm cabs(!) at 200W max each, to safely get your R800hd's full capabilities!! :woot:

But, yes, all the Rumble V3 cabs were specifically designed to sound good together.
.
I'm going to agree, maybe a 210 for the 2nd cab? They do have pretty good power handling ability.

Yep, it was not cool....but don't sleep on a classic USA Peavey bass! I have about 10 of 'em. Hartley's not making any money off the sale of a used bass from that era ;)
True. If I found a pre-screwing item from P______, I'd buy it. Such as another of their angled mic stands.

Agreed. My stage 800 plus the additional 210 will rattle your fillings out. It's a monsterous power and sound. No 15" needed. I checked here before I bought the extention cab and consensus was to pair the 800 (combo 210) with an additional 210. Or even 2 115s. But not a single 15 if I'm correct.

Wait a bit, and you can through the Rumble 800 into the mix :D:thumbsup:

But I much prefer the Rumble tone over the Ampeg. But it's all a matter of personal taste.

To me, there is nothing wrong with either one of them. As you said, "it's all a mater of personal taste". I happen to love my Ampeg PF20T through either an Ampeg or Rumble cab but, I believe the tube amp has a lot to do with it...maybe not a fair comparison.

Tube amps are a different animal. Nothing sounds like a tube amp.

So I am torn between a Rumble 500 and Ampeg RB210....They seem like the same amp with a different preamp section basically.

I like Ampeg gear and have owned a decent amount of Ampeg gear over the years (cabs & preamps, a combo amp). About a year ago, I needed a cab for a second band I was getting into, and the local place didn't have any new Rumbles in stock, so I went with an Ampeg 210. It was fine, but I never could get on with the Mid frequency knob. It was more like what I would consider a Hi-Mid center frequency.

I like being able to dial in some low mids and I just couldn't make that happen with the Ampeg 210 without the help of an external EQ. Kept it for about 8-10 months and finally traded it in on the Rumble 200 V3. Just chiming in to say that I feel like the Rumble has a much more versatile EQ section. Honestly, I also liked the overdrive section way better than the Scrambler circuit on the Ampeg. But, I use pedals mostly to get OD/Dist tones anyway, so that was a non-issue.

They have two very different tones. So, try them out at your nearest music gear store to decide which tone you prefer.

But, just for overall numbers comparison, I've updated my previously posted Rumble vs Rocket-Bass comparison chart:

i once bought an RB210. Kept it for a month. Out of this month it spent 2 weeks back to the store for repairs.
Awful build quality (one speaker wasnt evenn connected!) , plenty of rattling noise, loose screws… doesnt hold its own at half volume. I returned it for a refund .

SGT circuit and the tone is really nice though. But I just went back to Rumbles. Unbeatable.

I heard RB115 and 112 are better though. Maybe they are too cheap and poorly made to handle higher power

RE: Rumble 115 bass extension cabinet: pop-in casters -

Hello, Rumble folk; I've a query to run by ya. I recently found a 2nd hand 115 bass cabinet, 300W, in nearly new condition...:). The only thing I'm inclined to grouse about *at all* is the set of pop-in casters that come with. Here's the question: has anyone here found a set with larger diameter wheels (3, 3.5"), to replace the ones too small, that come stock? Just curious; thanks for any pointers...;).
