Fender Rumble Club

Hello, I'm Gabe and I buy too much gear. I'd like to join the Rumble club. I've had a F.R.40 for years, and have always loved it. Recently purchased a Stage 800 combo +210 cab. So far its incredible. Unlimited tonal possibilities, and all around fun. Have not played it with full band in a live setting. Any advice or warnings would be appreciated.

Warning! Full volume will melt your face off, and knock stuff off walls and shelves at home. It’s worse than a herd of cats that way.

Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

Thank you, @rtslinger, for sharing that news article in your "Finally" thread. I'm very glad I found it. rt, that article has been linked at the bottom of the new Rumble 800 COMBO sub-section on your Rumble Club Wiki page. This is great news that Fender is still innovating its great Rumble line!

Thanks again, rt, for sharing with our great TB community. I'm still having trouble finding a Fender announcement or any articles from the industry press about this great new amp! When I search for "Fender Rumble 800 COMBO" all I get are links to the Rumble Stage 800!!! :bored:

Rumble On!

A little chuckle borrowed from another thread:

Hey guys! Long time user and lover of a Rumble 800 head. I used the Bright switch for the first time and found it gives much more details in the highs. Sounds more like a high end / boutique brand Amp. But it gets very hissy.
Do you know if the Bassman 800 head, which has almost the same tonal qualities, is les hissy? Or what do you guys do to tame the hiss?
The bright switch sounds so good i dont want to turn it off, but it gets annoying.

thanks!

Maybe no help but, my Bassman 500, usually only run with one 8 ohm cab so 350W, doesn't sound hissy at all. Obviously, mine is not your same situation, so add a grain of salt.

But, the Bassman 800 may not the same situation, either. The Bassman's 2-channel preamp is dissimilar to Rumble's 1-channel, plus at just one 8 ohm cab the R800h is 400W while the Bassman 800 is 500W! Still, a worthwhile question, though.

Any Bassman 800 users here?

Otherwise, perhaps a comparison with the brand new Rumble 800 COMBO, when they show up in stores, would be the most similar amp!

I'm not in the Rumble Club (Ashdown user!) but I might be soon after seeing this! I'm looking to downsize. View attachment 4818870

Totally understandable, j! I couldn't believe the specs of the Rumble 500 combo 8 years ago, but it made a believer outta me!!! And this new Rumble 800 COMBO looks even more so!

Just let us know when you pull the trigger. That's enough to qualify for your membership number. :D

I noticed it also has the vaunted pre/post DI switch which so many users have complained about and a Speakon connector.

Yes, j, those were both introduced with the Rumble 800 HD head just 3 years ago. ... ... uh, ... wait a minute ... I tell a lie .... ...

The Speakon connector was introduced with the Rumble Stage 800 combo 4 years ago! But, the Stage didn't need a pre/post switch because it has both Pre- and Post- XLR Outputs (by default, but can be configured to STEREO left & right) Then came the HD adding the much called for pre/post switch with the Speakons 3 years ago.

Man! These 3 different Rumble 800s can be confusing! ? ... but exciting!!!

Yeah - but the Stage 800 is a different beast altogether and $150 more than the 800. The 800 is just more of the Rumble 500. The more I read I just keep thinking the Fenders are the amp for me. I finally went to GC and tried out a Markbass CMD 102p. Man, talk about underwhelming....I mean, it sounded great but it would get buried in loud guitars and drums without FOH support - not mention throwing keys into the mix.

It’s probably been discussed before, but has anyone used the 410 and 115 together in a stack? Thinking about picking up another cab (I have a 410) and I use the 800hd. Anyone got experience using 410s and 115s together? Fender has pictures posted on the 115 page with the 410 stacked on top, so I’d assume it’s not a totally random setup that will sound bad.

Back in 2018 I bought a 800HD with a 410, and found it lacked low end definition and had muddy mids.
The 115 sounds realllly good in store, i did not have the chance to try one out in a band situation. But nice boomy lows and crisp highs.

I now own Mesa subway cabs. They are probably the best out there.
But I keep wanting a 410+115 Rumble setup just to have that dirty, vintage vibe back.

the head is too strong for just one of these cabs alone. But both cabs together must sound like heaven,
I think id put the 115 on top
