I believe you've been an active Rumbler for quite some time but I don't see where, or know why, you've never got a number before. Anyway, I see you've already found the Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800 sub-thread to discuss the bass modeling Rumbles. Good.

Tone wise it sounds awesome, lots of volume, punch and warmth as I expected. Looking forward to start to gig with it!

I've just ordered an 800 too! Was thinking of getting a Rumble 210 cab, but maybe I'll just keep my Rumble 500c and chain them together when needed. Has anyone done this? Any advantages/disadvantages over an external cab?

Congrats! Seems to be a lot of that going around.

Anyhoo... With a 210 hooked to your R800 you get 400W per cabinet (per pair of 10's). With your R800 daisy-chained to your R500 and NO extension cabinet, you get 400W out of you R800 cab and 340W from you R500 cab. You do the math... ;)

A. Like all Rumbles 500 and less, the R500c's Master is upstream of the FX Loop, thereby controlling the level of the Sending signal. So, an instrument cable from 500 Send to the 800 Return lets you control the whole stack from the R500c. :)

2. But the R800c's Master is downstream of the FX Loop, so it can turn down any Returning signal. But it's Sending level (I'm guessing here) is probably fixed! ... possibly at a fairly low-ish level!!! So, if my suspicions are correct, an instrument cable from the 800 Send must go to the 500's Input to get significant volume and, therefore, go thru the 500's preamp & EQ, where you may need to reduce Gain & stuff and control its Master separately. BTW, I would LOVE for any R800c owner to confirm or refute my assumptions here, please. :D

¥. If the 750w of the 800+500 stack isn't quite enough, you can add one, two (or even three) cabs for a total of 400+500=900w, or 800+350=1,150w or 800+500=1,300w!!! Yeah, the third cab doesn't increase the power, but does increase the SPL. :woot:

aye, just changed a 1.5y/o Steve Harris set for a new rotosound flat 50-110. (they are reaaaaly heavy, but i am in standard D anyways)
As far as i remember theese are basically identical soundwise brand new.
The first couple of weeks are always ding-dang-zing-zang :D Regret a bit to change the old one, but it is now a nice backup set tossed to the gigbag if any of this breaks eventually.

The only reason I replaced my EBCFs was that one broke after about a year and a half. I'm currently using SIT Power Flats. They're OK, but I'll be going back to the EBCFs early next year-if we're still working.

Hello Mr Soul! I am a huge R115 fan. It is rugged as we need it to be, isn't it? I've rolled that thing down a rough city block and around the corner on those cab wheels. It is very musical in its voicing and not bashful to be heard. Lately I've been playing with a LOUD slamming drummer and two not too shy guitarists. (I love those young kids, hahaha.) The Rumble 115 still amazes me for the sound and portability at its price.

I agree. My R115 isn't going anywhere. I would sell my Ampeg PF112 first and buy another R115, if I was gigging. Imagine the air movement with two R115's and an Ampeg PF350 with a tube preamp, comp and OD...

Thanks, great to know those differences around the master and fx sends. The R500c feeding the R800c would be the way to go for me, easy! 750 watts vs 800 watts is neither here nor there, so I’ll likely just keep the R500c rather than get a 210.

Yeah, Bill, there's a few here have done that. A few more have posted in this thread:

It appears that the tonal differences are fairly small, since they use headphones to detect them, ... or not.

Well, ... A. a Rumble 210 is 8 ohms, but two of 'em is 4 ohms and the R800c can run either one or two of 'em!! But, whether you add one, or two, 8 ohm cabs the total power is 800w continuous.

And 2. the R800c by itself, with no cabs, is 400w continuous.

Just remember, Mark, some of that stuff is just my assumptions. And you know what assuming does, right? It'd be great to hear from someone who's actually tried that stuff and shared what they found. [hint, hint] ;)

I wont just to buy it yet then. 500c +210 cab is plenty for me. Just dont like missing out....
