Fender Rumble Club

Based on recommendations herein, I searched cover makers' web sites. I ended up going with Custom Amp Covers because they offered the most bang I needed[1] for the buck. Inspired by Yelena Romanov, I asked, and they were happy to add a cable pocket at $10 per cover.
The only surprise was when I saw the shipping cost. I dug a bit and realized then the covers would be coming from Bulgaria. That's fine, it just upped the cost some, and means it will take the covers longer to arrive. I still bought two (one per R100). I'll review them soon after they arrive.

Thanks for the heads-up on Custom Amp Covers. I live in France, so shipping and customs costs should be less. Bulgaria still has to use its own currency (like Poland and the Czech Republic) and not the Euro, but they are in the EU, so hopefully, no customs fee. I asked them for quotes for covers for my Rumble Studio 40 and my Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61 MkII keyboard.

This L-2000 has a parallel/singlecoil/series mode switch, and the active/passive option, and pickup selector, it has lots of tonal possibilities !

Mine and the L-1000 have a switch for parallel, split, and OMG modes. The OMG mode puts a 0.1 µF cap across one of the coils, cutting the highs, effectively giving a bass boost, at the expense of losing some humbucking.

I like the series mode on my L2K. I've found good uses for every switch position except parallel, I'm not sure what to do with that yet.

So I had a day to muck around with the Rumble 112 cab. I hooked it up to my Ashdown Little Bastard first to test it out. I was surprised at how great it sounded. It is very tight.

I hooked it up to my 500c and noticed that my regular settings needed to be changed to my liking. Normally I run the vintage and bright filters and turn the bass down a little while nudging the high mid.

Now with the 112, I set everything flat, with no filters, and turn the bass down enough to tighten everything up. Sounds great. Still playing around with it as it is a music room amp. I probably won’t gig it because I am all IEM gigs right now. The next amped gig I have is a fill in on 8/12 so I will bring this set up to see how it fairs.

I had to replace the badge to match my 500c since I wanted the look similar to my Super Bassman.

Anyone know if it has a high pass filter built in? As thinking about down tunings and losing mud.

What rumble extension cabs have people preferred in addition - the 1x15 or 2x10… would be fun to tap into the full 800 watts

Serious, SR! @SRS45, you are now member #1578 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

The Rumble 115 cab gets a lotta love here, but it's rated for just 300 watts continuous while the 800 COMBO could send it 400 watts. You'd have to keep the volume down and/or set the Impedance Switch to 4 ohms, or both!, to keep from damaging it.

The 210 cab has the same speakers as the Rumble Stage 800 combo, getting up to 400 watts continuous. The 210 cab also has a black grille version (otherwise just the same) made to match the Stage looks, too. So, despite the 350 watt rating in print, Fender obviously is confident the 210 cab can take 400 watts. If you want the full 800 watts, that's the way to go, or the 500 watt 410.

My Rumble 500 combo has those same 210 speakers, also. And, when I connect my Bassman 115 Neo cab to it, I cannot tell any significant difference between the Rumble 210 and the Bassman 115 Neo! YMMV.

Awesome thanks man, I’ve been doing the odd pub gig with an acoustic bass and small 40w amp but nothing serious. decided to go full force now and learn to play properly, new band joined, looking to gig soon & practicing a few hours each night until I’m the bassist I should have been. Loving it, currently selling my 5 string acoustic and bought a Gretsch G2220, looking to add a fender duff signature bass and Höfner club with tapped flats… but one thing at a time

The rumble though, my guitar shop kept trying to sell me a Markbass amp but seemed underpowered and although sounded amazing didn’t sound like a bass to me. I gave up and on the way out noticed a rumble they didn’t even mentioned asked then to hook it up… that was the sound I was looking for!

Most Sunday mornings we play as a threesome or foursome. Today being the church’s tenth anniversary, we had 8 musicians (the full current set plus our previous worship pastor), so the sound person asked me to run line out to the board. She only asked me to turn my 2xR100 stack down a little bit and still got the level control she needed for the overall mix. I could still hear myself fine through the Rumbles. My wife said it sounded good.
