I wouldn't be jealous or envious. Those people will be wearing hearing aids, like I do now. I only played with a 60 watt tube amp and a 2-15 cab but, after a few years of playing in a band, 7 nights a week, I needed hearing aids at 40. It's not just the bass. It's the drums, guitar and any others that play at high volume.
Save yourself the hassle and expense. Wear hearing protection.
I took some light ribbing at my previous church for using my Beats Studio 3 cans on stage, but the noise cancelling saved my ears from the drums. They were a Christmas present from work.
