Fender Rumble Club

I must be missing something...I am not seeing any money spent to drive customers to retailers' doors except for discounting their SRP on existing products. How that helps retailers is beyond me but, maybe Fender has a plan...? I am waiting for a big surprise...;).

Just noting what the CEO said in the article. I'd assume he means ads, emails, and social media stuff.

This exactly. I get Fender emails constantly. In French. Ha.

But none of it is about new product development. It's about pushing current product. That's not a bad thing. Too bad it didn't start when the 112 cab was still a product.

I like some of what Fender does, for example the Fender Play thing. Obviously, I love the Rumbles. I play G&L basses for the most part now (which to me are more Fender than Fender), but I still like some Fender basses. My fretless is a Player series Jazz. Maybe the folks at Fender are just trying in their own way to stay relevent.

Tell me more about linking two 100s together.
Start out by just stacking them one on top of the other. You won't need access to the controls on the bottom amp because they are all bypassed when you daisy chain them anyway. Run a cable between the effects send of the top amp to the effects return of the bottom amp. Whatever you do with the controls of the top amp will be mirrored in the bottom amp. The best part is the coupling effect of the two 12-inch speakers working together. It just sounds so much bigger than one Rumble 100 by itself.

That's been my experience the two times I've played through a pair. Also played-once-through my R100>R200c. That's not counting the time-at the house-this setup: TBird>EHX Micro POG, set 1 octave up(which went to the R40-top right); dry signal>R100>R200c>R112. Lotta cables back there.

This! I bought the second Rumble just in case I needed more power, and because I like having backups. But based on recommendations by folk here (such as @GonePlaid), I chained and stacked them, and now that's my go to because it sound so. dang. good.

Right now-due to lack of bookings-I don't need a second 100. This doesn't mean I don't want one, but-for now-it has gots to wait.

Right now, due to not gigging at all, a second is not necessary. The one I have can barely be turned up without the boss and her cat complaining . It's a great recording amp using the XLR out. Hope to jam with it someday.

So what’s everyone’s thoughts on a Bassman 800 head and 2 Rumble 115 cabinets ?
I'd have to hear it but I think the 210 would be hard to beat (my bias). The first Rumble amp I played was the 200W with the 15" and to my ears it sounded similar to the 210 cab. New, the 115 is 100.00 cheaper per cab so there's that! Unless you have a speaker death wish I don't think the 50 watt difference between the 115 (300W) and the 210 (350W) would make much of a difference. I'm guessing I probably would not be able to tell the difference in a blind test. I'd go the extra 100.00 for the extra speaker, but really, I'm an idiot and the flaw in my thinking is right here in black and white. Try it. I'd have a hard time believing you would be disappointed in the 2 115's. I LOVE the sound of my 210's with the Rumble 800H. So, it's not exactly a Bassman but hey...

NOT a good idea.

B. The Bassman 800 can put up to 500 watts continuous into a single 8 ohm cab. That requires a whole LOT of turn down* to keep from damaging a 300 watts continuous rated Rumble 115. Even the 350 watts continuous Bassman 115 neo is not safe for the Bassman 800.

2. Two Rumble 115s will reduce the Bassman 800 max output to 400 watts continuous for each cab, but that's still quite high to try to rely on turning down to be safe.

. Two Rumble 210 cabs are the smallest I would trust with a Bassman 800. Yeah, they are rated at only 350 watts continuous online and on paper; but these are the exact same speakers Fender puts in the Rumble Stage 800 where they can get up to 400 watts continuous AND they are the exact same cabs Fender gives the black grille cosmetics to match the black grille Rumble Stage 800 for extension duty where they can get 400 watts continuous.
If you gotta have 15" speakers I don't see any current Fenders for that service. Sorry, but 10" is where it's at for that power level (even turned down). Rumble 210, 410 or the cool Bassman 610 are highly recommended.

*ps: turning knobs "just halfway up" can actually be up to 80-90% full due to non-linear pots in some controls. It's not a reliable safety practice. Neither is "listening for signs of stress" from the cab.

G-Dog is the Rumble Oracle. :D

Aw, shucks, B. I'm not really no kinda public talker at all. Why, it can take me hours jist to write one of these li'l comments, what with in betwixt the occidental impromptu honey-do, an' trips to the bathroom, an' taking my pills, and ..., and ..., what was I saying? Uh, ... never mine.
