Visit my previous band mate house because he bought a new R800c a week ago. He has 500c+210 cab for gig since 2017 .
So, I have a chance to test and see the sound different between both combo with and without ext210 cab.
Without 3 button engage, EQ bass 11 o'clock, low mid noon, hi mid 1.30 and treble noon (his personal EQ setup), gain and volume set 9 o'clock and 10 o'clock.
Output.
Hmmm..... honestly, volume different are minimal on this setting even both volume knob turn up close to noon. But once pass 1 o'clock, the output different start notable. I dint turn up after that just because tooooo loud in his band room.
So, I believe the extra watts on 800c are hidden before volume knob pass 1 o'clock.
......hmmmm, 50watts has that much different make ???
Sound/tone
800c sound clean and bit lighter voice on low end. The G string on pbass just tell the difference. When volume knob turn to 1 o'clock, I can hear more tighter upper mid voice and the E string low note also ring better clean too.
Once vintage button engage, overall tone become hefty and firm.
I do believe 800c completely redefine for loud stage performance.
Band practice medium volume.
In band practice, most the time his volume setup around 10-11 o'clock , depends to music style.
The R500c has more low end than 800c. Therefore, I do believe there are few TB member mention previously are true.
But after adding the 210cab, the low end fullness are come back on 800c.
I think FMIC din't update their R210cab ceramic driver to neo because they knew the purpose of this cab when matching with new 800c.
I can sure 800c are my next purchase plan
