Fender Rumble Club

Why? I like a nice top end!
It won't be nice, but harsh and your bottom will be something akin to mush. The stock Eminence Ceramic Ferrite Magnet driven woofer is excellent, and will give you all the top end any bass guitar can produce and then some.

If you'd like a bit more SPL, the Eminence Basslite S2012 is an excellent choice. It's what I put in my Rumble 75. Once again, always line your cabinet/combo box properly with good quality acoustic foam.

When playing guitar, I was a pedal fiend with constant GAS. Now I go straight in to my amp on bass. Between my Ibanez and Rumble, I've been completely cured of all GAS! The only reason I'm not purging all my other gear is because I would probably regret it later - I collected some pretty nice stuff along the way. :)

Tone is subjective, we all might like something different. My question is this, I'm digging the clean tone of my 200 combo + 112 cab sans any of my effects, how does everyone else feel about their tone? Do you use any effects? I have a Markbass Compressore and a Tech21 Sans Amp which I always used to shape my tone with my Rumble 75, I'm thinking of leaving the Tech21 off for my next gig and see how she runs clean. Just wanted to see what others are using if anything at all.

Rumbles ROCK..... And ROLL! (If their on casters anyway)

I love the tone I've been getting through the Rumble 500, haven't had a need for any tone shaping effects, though I have been thinking about picking up an MXR M87 compressor and maybe a Black Cat bass octave fuzz, just for some different sounds.

Haha, yes. I was expecting that comment. We do suffer from the Antipodean Tax.... Small market 23million people compared to the US population of 300 odd million, though our land size is nearly as large as your contiguous States.

Bear in mind though, these are changed to 240v there'd be a cost to that I guess.
Plus all prices shown to consumers in Australia include all taxes, including the GST. Dealers are free to charge less than RRP, and often do.

But still, yep we get ripped off on prices on most everything.
We sure do get ripped off here. My V3 100 was $519 and that was on special. I'm too scared to check the price of the V3 200!

Last weekend I finally used my Rumble500 live, on the very first gig of our band. I must say, being on a "serious" gig for the first time, I was way too focused on playing the right notes to worry about my sound.
What I can say is that I can't complain :) I heard myself well. But it was DI-ed directly from the combo XLR output so I don't how much I was hearing form the amp itself behind me and from the stage monitors. Also, the stage was small for 5 guys and I was very close to the amp instead of a few metters away from it.

And we won the contest so it couldn't have sounded that bad! So I'll be using it again the contest finals!

I found out what at least one professional soundman thinks of the DI on the Rumble 200. Biggest outdoor stage I had been on in years. He was getting ready to use a direct box and it needed a 1/4 inch output from the amp. I showed him the XLR and he plugged into it direct to the snake. I explained to him that I would set my volume, but if I needed to adjust it, it also changed the house. He just said that it didn't matter to him. It didn't matter. Not an issue.

The DI worked great into a HUGE sound system. Playing through my amp on stage and then feeling the power of giant 18 inch subs was fun.

Yeah, suppose it's the soundman's job to make on the fly adjustments, no different than a mic'd cab if the player makes adjustments on stage.
I remember some people mentioning in prior posts that it wasn't the best setup. Maybe it isn't. I just wanted to let people know that it worked fine in a real life situation. And the built in DI wasn't noisy either.

Another side note: I was packed up and loaded before anyone else had even started. Rumble 200 in one hand, bass in gig-bag on back. Free hand holding my beverage. So I helped with the drums and the way-heavy guitar amp with two handles. The stage was for a two day festival so it stayed. You can just see the Rumble on the left side of the picture, with my Taos Blue Precision on top of it.

Thanks for your working bass player's gig report, GregT. The XLR out does what it is supposed to do and does it well and distortion free. All good things.
