Fender Rumble Club

I just got back from band rehearsal. I just joined the band tonight, in fact, so I'm pretty stoked that I have a band that I want to work with and the Rumble rig was totally what I need. I used the full setup, 500 combo on top of the 210 cab, settings were:

Gain - 1:30
Bass - 10:00
Low-Mid - 11:30
High Mid - 11:00
Treble - 11:00
Volume - 11:00
Vintage button in all the time.

With a single guitarist, hard hitting drummer, and vocalist, I was more than a match. Loved the tone, and it really stood out from what I could hear. Also, used the overdrive on a few songs, the drive was nearly at noon and the gain was around 11:00 IIRC.

I cannot wait to gig with this setup.

thats pretty loud, did the speakers sound clear, do you think they had much room left , i wounder if you needed say gain and vol at 3;00 how things would go

Loud, yes, but not super loud. Notes were clear, especially on back pickup work. I had the amp much higher a few weeks ago, I believe around the 3 o'clock range, though the gain was at 9 o'clock at the time. Just to see what would happen. So loud. The room was rattling so much that I only played two notes and stopped. Hard to tell if those notes were completely clear or if it was everything rattling along with it.

On the Rumble 112 cab - just got one. Like it a lot. Not battle-tested yet, but driven with a Rumble 500 head, I like it by itself, and I especially like it paired with the 500 combo. with the combo, it adds girth, but not as much as another 210 (which I had, and took back). The extra 210 added to the 500 combo I found far too bassy, but adding the 112, to my ear in my practice room, does not add so much depth as to overcome the midrange... Probably because it has a good bit of mid on it's own. One downside to the sound is that it seems to be hot in the upper-bass range, but that's just in my studio. It very well might straighten out on a gig, and probably will.

By itself, it has a nice sound - somewhat 15-like in that it has a really nice, round "pop" like a smooth 15 does. It's clear in the upper mids. Not overpowering in the super-high with the switch at -6dB. But, like every single-12 I've ever played, had to be pushed to get a healthy volume out of it. I don't mind that, though, because as a single cab, I'll use it for some quiet gigs we have coming up. Despite that, it seems to keep up with the 10s in the combo just fine. One thing I especially like is the 3-way control for the tweeter. Half-off is really nice.

I could easily see this a 2-cab rig if one is so inclined.

More later...

Gigged my 200 combo + 112 cab last night! Mind you, it wasn't a huge space, maybe 100 people, but with the gain at 10:00 and volume at only 9:00, I was loud enough and easily heard. It's amazing how much the extra cab adds. The tone was spot on for me, clear, warm but not muddy, the guitar player next to me said it sounded awesome! Will be playing a larger room next month, about 300 - 400 people, will report back on that one too.

Rumble on folks!

My new Rumble 100! :)

bought a 500 v3 combo and it was set at vol noon and gain noon to get a good mix level at practice last night,[3 piece , "Shady Brain Farm" , to get a idea
Search Everything on SoundCloud - Listen to music

tried it with a very deep dark 410 cab that was in practice room, and it wasnt much louder ,but was bigger and more room filling , so ordered the v3 210 extension cab today
i like the idea of the small foot print , some of the venues we play are very cramp stages, cant take a step in ant direction without hitting something!, so the vertical stack of a 410 will be good for 1, the small foot print and 2 ,its gets 2 speakers up nearer ear level,
noticed when bright button is engaged there is quite a hiss/buzz from the little horn , yours too?

Hello!
I'm considering buying a Rumble 112 V3 cab, for using with a small 250w 8ohm head I have, do you recommend it?
Before that, I was thinking of a MarkBass New York 112, but I always liked Fender sound, and also I could save some money if I get that one.
Do you people think that it could be a good option, similar in terms of loudness, nice tone and good deep end?
Thanks

On my new Rumble 112: love it. Did a gig with it and the 500 combo last night as it was near-perfect. less bassy than the combo paired with the 210, and it adds girth and bark. Initially I had an issue with a booming bump around 200 hz, but that somehow resolved itself on its own. But make mo mistake - you will still be cranking the bass knob back, as usual. The real winning feature of the 112 cab - aside from is just being cute - is the -6db setting for the horn switch. Full off isn't enough top end, full on is too much - and that's also true of the 500 combo, for sure. I think we need a mod for the 500 combo to add that, but that's for another day...

The only problem with the 500 combo/210 stack is that the 112 ought to be on top of the 210s; standing up against the cab you can't hear much high end (I had the combo's tweeter off). But moving about 8 feet in front of it, and the whole mess just blends together and sounds really nice - full and clear. I've never had a rig that worked like that, and it's good. It means the audience is getting a clear bass tone. And it's definitely loud.

I'm thinking a better option for me would have been a 210 cab with the 112. That way I could place them however I liked. And the wind managed to knock a cup of ice over, falling onto the controls; I'll probably never buy a combo again for that reason; they're inconvenient. Anyway, I'm wondering what two 112s would sound like...
