Fender Rumble Club

Yes. V2 & V3 both have a heavy textured vinyl covering that is not the more expensive and tougher Tolex fabric.

I can tell you, v2 vinyl's texture have better touch than v3 cardboard feel .

But compare to my previous v2 75 combo, v3 got better assembly quality. My v2 75 combo got rattle and vabration at the joining side. And the vinyl dint glue well.

lol, I have just been playing with it and I really like the deep sound of the 100.
I can kind of guess how a 200 or 500 would sound.
But that would be a bit overkill for home practice I think...or not? :D

Before I get myself 200 combo, I just plan to get v3 100 combo to replace my v2 75 combo. I prefer 12 driver, it got balance tone, not too tight and not too boomy.
After try 200/115 , it sound close to the combo which I really interested but can't affort one = Bassman TV15.

Another reason is I own Roland vdrum, plug to aux of the 100 combo,it lack crisp sound and zing of cymbal. Same problem with v2 75 combo too.
But 200 combo with horn can handle the drum sound very well, it 15 in driver sound punchy too.

Well, my local Fender dealer still has new Rumbles on back order. Been waiting for two months now, and decided to give the other music store in town a call yesterday on the off chance they might have a Rumble 500 in stock. Turns out they did! Headed right over, plugged in, played, and purchased. Used it at a weekly jam session last night, and was really impressed with the power and the tone. Now I just have to tell the Mrs. about it... :bored:

I realize everyone knows what the 500 looks like, but here's a picture of my new setup from last night.

Same with me. I am old now, Rumble 100 2005 is enough for my needs for rest of my life. I play 60`s - 70`s style classic rock mostly and some jazz. Pedals can give my amp enough variation.

So i see if i can change it`s covering to vinyl with good resulting finish. I have no hurry, i won`t get much from it, and i bought it in 2006 for half price already.

I don`t remember if i have written that i have a 2005 Rumble 100, but it is said now. It has that felt covering which i don`t like, is it big work to replace it with vinyl?
You should look into getting some Duratex. It's a roll on coating that's very durable and looks a lot like tolex. Just strip the cab to bare wood, roll it on let it dry. Done!

That's plenty good enough for us, NightCat. Welcome to the Fender Rumble Club, you are member #422 :hyper:

:D Rumbles Rule! :roflmao:

It's a little hard to see but I have my Ampeg Blue Diamond Jet II 15W tube guitar amp sitting on top of my Ampeg B-100R. Next to that is the Rumble 40. On the left is a MIJ Fender Telecaster, the hot-rodded Douglas Pisces and my SB-2.
Rock-On
