Fender Rumble Club

Played 3 great gigs Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Learned the hard way (twice--2nd time was just to confirm:woot:) don't set your drinks on top of your R800c when it's cranking. Both times they ended up on the floor...

At least they didn't go min the other direction and end up in the circuitry. That would likely cause the magic blue smoke, that make the wonderful sounds out!

Greetings and salutations! First time poster here. Just sharing a pic of my relatively new Rumble 40. I love it so much!

Hola, Emery! @Emerson Mounger, you are now member #1715 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

So, Em, how's about telling us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? You'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!
.

800c arrived. Passed the first hurdle, it fits under my desk table.

Wow, that's a lotta bass tone. Guess I got used to the flat response from the Peavey MiniMAX. Turned down the bass control a bit, all is well. :bassist:

it’s easy to get a flat response; it’s just that all the controls at noon isn’t flat. Check the Rumble Club Wiki for the lowdown on the low down.

I expect this has been answered numerous times in this thread but I get a headache trying to search through so many pages...so...please...how do you chain two R100's (for example) together? Are you then effectively playing through a 2x12 with 100w to each speaker?
Run a cable from the effect send of the top 100 to the effect return of the bottom 100.
200W, 2-12' speakers. Top amp controls both. I do it all the time.

Anyone tried using a Hartke HyDrive 210 cab as an extension for a rumble 500 or 800? Wondering how they'll play together after seeing the mixed cab discussion recently. TIA!
To answer my own question, the HL210 sounds pretty good together with the Rumble 800c, at least at home levels. Hartke cab a bit more articulate/clear to my ears.

So should they be stacked vertically, or side-by side like a 4x10? The Hartke expects to be horizontal per the feet location. Maybe an inverted T with the R800 on top? :D

Tweeters:
- Both off? (Tweeters are for guitar/keys, ya fool!)
- Both on? (Moar tha bettah!)
- Just the one? The other? (Quit waffling!)

Now saving for a Rumble or Hartke 115 to round things out.

Relative newbie (been playing about a year) questions (patience appreciated):

* I didn’t see a link to start a new post in the club. Is the only option to “Post a Reply” at the end of the last posting? I did see a “Post” option at a higher (non-club level) place.

* I’d like to record some of my playing - for self evaluation. Using the built-in mics on my iPhone/ipad doesn’t yield a great result. I have the GarageBand app on the iPad. Can I use the XLR port on my Rumble 40 v3 with an XLR to Lightening cable to go directly into Garage Band on the iPad? If so - will connecting to XLR mute the Rumble 40 speaker? Is this a good route to simple recording or are there other good options? One advantage, to my newbie brain, is that Garage Band will allow multi-track recording and the addition of some built-in drum rhythms.

Thanks!
