Fender Rumble Club

Hello!

I'm the proud owner of two Rumble 500c and two Rumble 210s.

I'm not a fan of the Fender amp covers, however.

I am wondering what club members are using as amp covers, other than the Fender ones?

Thanks!

John

I recently got this one for my Stage 800. Very happy with it, but it took a couple of weeks to get here.

Custom padded cover for FENDER Rumble 500 v.3 - Combo Amp

It was a recommendation by another member.

I AM a fan of Fender amp covers, John, BUT they didn't start making them for my now 10-year-old R500c until AFTER I bought one from MDB Covers about 9 years ago. It's a great fit of very nice , thick black canvas with a soft lining and has protected the amp quite well with no significant sign of wear!

Fender also didn't make covers for the 40s after I bought my Studio 40 around 5 years ago! So I bought one from LeCover Covers about four years ago. It, too, fits great with a nice, thick black canvas with soft lining. So, far, it looks to be just as durable as the MDB has been.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of these.

I bought a pair of covers from Custom Covers, Ltd. Taking my cue From Yelena Romanoff’s vest, I paid a bit extra and got a pocket on each one. They work great and are holding up beautifully.
Unfortunately there are multiple businesses with similar names and none of the websites seem to be exactly the one I bought from. Their ebay store might be your best bet.

When we built our first house in San Miguel, we didn’t know there were feral cats with access to my ‘studio’. Smelling a telltale odor, I used a black light and confirmed one had christened my R200c. Got the screen and onto the cone itself. Fortunately I was able to tackle it early and there are no remnants remaining. But I make sure our possessive 150 lb Rotweiler is never allowed near things of importance.

Been using my R100 for gigs and it’s been great. Small bars, one outside on a covered patio, but they have to keep the dB down because of noise complaints.

But, a bandmate has a R40 he’s thinking about selling, thinking about buying it in case I do ever need a boost…
I find my R100 is enuff for all the rooms we play in. We're never LOUD, per the wishes of those who book us. I take the 200c once in a while just for the 'halibut'.
Remember, there's no "easy" way to connect the 100 to the 40 other than an A/B box.

Is there any benefit to connecting to the R100's FX Return from the R40's Line out using an XLR to ¼" cable? Would that give you 140 total watts?

I guess this is more of a technical question than observation but my question to this is, would there actually be a functional benefit? Yeah, if you add together the individual watt ratings you get 140. But I don't think that, functionally, you're getting 140W. You're not driving a 10" and a 12" with a collective 140W. You end up with 40W driving a 10" and 100W driving a 12". Will the R40, in this case be providing any measurable benefit? Seems to me the answer would be no. But I'm here to learn.

Good idea, draggy! A little extra boost could help! ;)

Well, an instrument cable from the 100's FX Send to the 40's INPUT is easy enough. It's safe but you need to turn down the 40's Gain & EQ 'cause the signal is already EQ'd from the 100.

That has worked for some Rumblers, too.

True, Tim-migh, it's not spreading the power across all the speakers. But neither does the preferred FX Send to FX Return do that. But, both methods put the power where it is appropriate! You definitely don't want to put the 100 watts into the speaker designed for the 40!!! :woot: And, yes, the 40w is a significant addition to the 100. Just ask Goner the difference between his 100w and his 140w standalone 200 combo!

I use a 100 at church and absolutely love it. I love having a one trip load in. It sounds great through the system. My 6 year old son is my sound guy. He always gives me a very in depth and hilarious description of how my sound is. He is a big fan of the Rumble.

I got a chance last night to use my new Rumble 210 extension with the 500c. I thought the 500c sounded great before but man this thing whomps now! I had my VT Bass hooked up but just ended it using the on board overdrive for just a dash of grit.
