So I finally bought a 2nd R100 V3 to chain with my 3 year old R100 V3. This seemed to work great and as expected.
But, when trying the new combo out by itself, I connected my pedalboard to the effects return. To my surprise, the master volume from the amp actually functioned (all other controls did not, as expected). On my older combo, all controls, including the master are not functional and I control volume through my pedals and bass,
I then noticed that my new combo had a pre/post button that my old combo did not.
So, I then went to the Fender website to look up the Rumble combo manual to see if there were updates. And this may have been discussed before and I missed it. Apparently Fender changed the power supply and amp module sometime over the past couple of years. This resulted in a change from an 8ohm speaker to a 4 ohm speaker as well as the addition of a pre/post/ button on the DI. There is no other mention of any other updates, but I am wondering, could the use of only the effect return being used allow for the Master on the amp to be functional also be an update? Or is my new combo defective?
