Fender Rumble Club

Wow, thanks for your help. It’s not the same piece though. The solder points are underneath the jack, not on the side. And there’s five solder points. It’s closer to this, but not quite. Fender Jack 1/4" PCB 2/CD SCC 0030771000. That part has three solder points, I need five. I’ve included a pic of what mine looks like.

Weird, I guess Fender started using a new jack at some point. And I can’t find it anywhere. If anyone does, please let me know. I’ve looked on the Fender site, they don’t seem to sell this.

I’ve found something similar from other companies. I’m a little apprehensive about going with someone else than Fender, I imagine the dimensions are different.

If anyone here has gone through this, I’d love to hear from you!
Interesting. The block diagram shows a standard three lug jack - tip, ring, shorting switch. Did all 5 lugs on your switch actually go anywhere?

Happy Father's Day!

I took my R500c to church this morning, since I didn't know if it would be in the FOH, or not. It was, so I turned the amp and bass down quite a bit. Next time I'll take the Studio 40, cause it's a bit lighter for negotiating stairs and I'm getting old!

Hey! Couldn't you see I was trying to DE-emphasize the "getting old" part!! Thanks (for nothing) for bringing it back to a bigger font. 😫 A regular "Reply" or "Quote" would have respected that. But, no, what did you do, copy then "paste as plain text", or something? Gosh! Can't keep any secrets 'round here! Though I guess my gray hair in the linked pic is even more of a giveaway. ☹️ Just kidding. Everyone knows I'm old. Actually kinda proud to still be around. 😉

... ... ... That's sure what I'd do. I don't know how big your church is, but do you think the Studio 40 might be enough even without FOH?

It's not a very big church, John, though it does have a small, mostly un-used, balcony, and great acoustics! My ultralight 9.9 lb. Vox VX50BA carried it fairly well back in 2018 when I was recovering from back surgery. And, although the Vox is 50 nutube watts (with 8" speaker), it feels to me like the Rumble Studio 40 (with 10" speaker) actually has a lot more SPL to it. So, I have no real doubt that the Studio 40 can carry the room, I just didn't want to have to push it there today if there were lots of other guitars (usual for this singer) and no FOH.

You mean to say the profile picture isn't you? 😜

Before diving into a Rumble 500, I have 2 questions:

With the master on zero, does it still send a good D.I. signal to the FOH?

When I add my pedalboard through the effects send/return, it doesn't bypass the on board pre-amp, does it? I already have a pre-amp on my board. Will setting everything at noon settle that or can I plug in my pedal board in the aux in?

Hope someone can help me!

No. The master controls the cabsimmed DI too. Just like if You placed a microphone in front of the amp. (It's changed with the new version that has pre/post DI, but I've only seen rumble100s here with that new circuit. as seen here: Fender Rumble Club Wiki Page)
See wiki's block diagram here: block diagram

Depends. See block diagram again.

If You go send > pedal > return, then Rumble's preamp is before the pedal. So it is used.
If You go direct into Your pedal > return, then obviously it would not be used at all. Just Your pedal's preamp. You also control overall volume with the pedal. (be careful)
If You go pedal > input, then it's used again. (but then it is not in the efx loop obviously)

Thanks so much! So the combo can not be used on stage as a silent D.I.? There's allways an amount of bassound?

It could be. Just plug something (even an open ended headphone cable/"dummy" 1/8" male jack works, but DO NOT short the output!) into the headphone jack. That'll cut the combo's powered output. :) (using this at home all the time)

As dORSY has said, the Rumble 40, 200, 500, and some 100s, works much like a mic'ed cab with the Master control. Here are some real life testimonials about how that goes.
Also as dORSY pointed out, many (but not all!) 100 combos have a Pre/Post and are not affected by the Master control. But, also the newer Rumble 800 combo has a Pre/Post switch and is not affected by the Master control. (It also has a 1/4 Power Switch for playing at lower volume.) The 800 combo has more power, and less weight, than the 500 combo.

Aye! Forgot about the r800! Thanks!
