Fender Rumble Club

I got my 2x112" stack yesterday. Works great with my Aguilar TH500 and I much prefer my 2x Rumble V3 1x12" stack over the 2x Aguilar SL112 1x12" stack I had previously, despite the fact that a single SL112 is more money than two Rumble 112 cabs. I'm using both cabs with the tweeter turned off and I get a very immediate, intimate sound with plenty of low end and power. It's a sound I really like. I like an intimate, mid-focused bass sound w/ only minimal highs and lows. I seem to get this sound much easier with the Rumble 112 speakers than with the Rumble 210 (as in my 500 combo) or Rumble 115 cabinets (which I had as an extension cab). Love it. I'm still keeping my 500 combo because I can't beat the convenience but I think I've found my favorite setup for now. I love the versatility of the Tone Hammer head and as much as I like the Rumble heads, it's no Tone Hammer.

That's very telling right there! And just goes to show how good the new V3 Rumble 112's do sound. I for one am glad that Fender Rumble 500's do not sound like Aguilar Tone Hammers. They each have their place.

Wow, it's amazing how much has gone on here since I last posted. Active thread! Anyway thanks everyone for the feedback on 200 vs. 500, and now I'm interested to see how the 40 does on a small gig too...and thanks for the number Linnin. Updating my signature file is on the to-do list for this weekend.

Have a chance to score a Rumble 60 for $40 next week. Anxious to check it out. I have zero experience with Rumbles of any size and I really need a decent practice amp.

Not sure what year it is. Seller says it's fully functional but missing a knob and the power light doesn't come on.

Are the 60 watters out of production?

You all think this is a good deal?

hey club! :D

my birthday is around the corner (2 weeks out) and i need to decide which v3 rumble to get to celebrate and to add to my collection. i have the v3-40, but im going tiny this time with either the V3 15, or 25.

i know, i know... they are not the popular, cool ones (per se) like a 210+115x500 that some of you have, but im pretty sure i want a 15 or 25... yes, i want one :smug:drool.

im having a hard time deciding between the 15 and the 25 because; that 15 is just so darn cute, but for just $20 more, you get a contour button, and an overdrive effect. i dont like the 25's size because it's more close to my v3 40 in looks, but would it sound lightyears ahead of the 15?... i guess what im saying is that i equally like the size of the 15 over the 25, but i like the overdrive and contour buttons of the 25 over the 15. what am i going to do?! HALP #lol

That is one of the original V1 Rumbles that were first introduced in 2003. The Rumble 60 was replaced by the V2 Rumble 75 in 2010 which in turn was replaced by the V3 Rumble 100 in 2014. All of these are 1X12 combos. Fender Rumble History

Try every control to make sure it is fully functional. Also crank the volume up about half way to make sure the woofer is OK. If everything checks out, yes $40 is a fair price.

I've had, all V3:

One 500 combo. Still have. Just gigged tonight. I like it. I don't love the sound but I love its presentation as an overall package and I like the sound enough, although I often end up doing radical things to the EQ to get the sound in my head. I'm talking like cutting bass to 1 or 2 and turning the tweeter off and boosting the mids. My favorite amps are always things that sound perfect to me at noon and this amp isn't that but the amp can get reasonably close to my sound so I do like it in the end. It's so light, too.

One 1x15 cabinet. It wasn't really my sound and didn't add much of what I liked to the 500 combo. But useful as an amp stand. Traded in.

One 40 watt combo. For some reason I adore this amp. I wish someone made a louder version of this amp but bigger amps never have the same EQ as smaller amps and I find this amp to sound perfect with everything at noon. I practice bass and guitar through this.

Now two 112s. Early impressions are enormously positive. I love the side handles and much prefer them to the top handle. I wish my 500 combo had them.

So I've spent my money on five V3 Rumble items and kept four of them so far. And I could see myself buying more. Maybe another 112 with a V2 350 head. Or a 210 cab to match my combo.

Maybe the 100 is too small for non-home but 40 is not :)

Rumble 40 is just amazing little amp! I used it on a small gig yesterday for the first time and it worked great. I'm usually playing with my 500H and 115 or 410. Of course the lowest end wasn't the same but with a little help from two active speakers I was able to fill the small room with smooth bass and the band was happy.

I was extremely happy too, especially when lugging the amp back home three a clock in the morning! Will do it again. Great amp!

Ok!

Just got my GK 410 back to day. New speakers all around. Eminence Legend B810s. Cab now has a 600 watt base. And is essentially new. pairing with a new PF-410HLF. And of course my Rumble 350. Sam Ash still has a Rumble 500 head I'm considering. Gonna try the 810 setup out at practice Wednesday night. Probably to much for there but I gotta see how this Doom Rig works out.

Didn't even take delivery of my Rumble 40.

Told the GC guy to swap it for a 100 and waited a few more days for it to come in.

Played my first gig with it last night in a neighborhood bar.

Full band, blues harp/guitar/drums/bass.

Sounded great with my '78 Jbass and TI flats.

I'm stoked.

Work locally when Paul Orta comes through town.
