Sorry, I didn't really notice the second part of your statement (which made the first part sort of rhetorical). As little as we play these days, and the fact that all of my 'stuff' is pre-Speakon, I ain't changin' nuttin'.
Not that any of us can afford. No idea, but there ought to be.
The live music biz in my area went to sh!t during COVID and hasn't recovered. No point in upgrading for no return.Sorry, I didn't really notice the second part of your statement (which made the first part sort of rhetorical).
I guess it could be useful info for others, but of course, use whatever you want, by all means.

I understand. The live music biz in my area went to sh!t during COVID and hasn't recovered. No point in upgrading for no return.
I’m sitting in with a new band tomorrow night. The rehearsal rig is a Rumble 350. I want to bypass the preamp. Is it like my 500c where I put the pedal train output into the FX return? I think I got that right![]()
Does that also bypass the master volume making the external preamp volume the new master?Yessir, Stealy. Here's an excerpt from the Rumble 150 & 350 manual confirming that. See the last sentence in the "Tip" paragraph.
Looks like the volume control is before the loop, so yes.Does that also bypass the master volume making the external preamp volume the new master?
True, but B4 that, we worked at least one day every weekend we wanted to. Now it's maybe once a month average.I understand.
It really wasn't easy even before C19!
Last minute jam has come up with a last minute option.
I am bringing my pedal board and a rumble 500c. Word on the street is a Rumble 200c will also be there.
is it possible to make a stack out of them without using speaker cable? I do not have any, no where to get it in this town.
I was thinking pedal board into 500c input, 500 c XLR out into 1/4 adapter into FX return on 200c (don't understand why, but my recon seems to indicate this will work and I have the gear)
Is this safe? Is this the best way consider gear at hand?
I am not determined to do this and am not going to attempt it unless I hear from members of the club.
The simplest, most straight forward way is instrument cable from FX Send of R500c to FX Return of the R200c. Then just set 500 like you want to, the 200 will follow along. No controls on the 200 will work, but it amplifies the 500 signal.![]()

I assume one would use the DI out of the 500c in such a case, if one needed DI out of this configuration? ... ... ...
... ... ... And when you say no controls on the 200c work, I assume that is what you mean, including volume? ... ... ...
... ... ... So what ever cab "balance" happens, happens automatically.
This. The 500 will still be about 2.5x the power level of the 200, but in terms of heard sound levels, that's not a big deal. You’ll still hear the sound of the two cabs together. The simplest, most straight forward way is instrument cable from FX Send of R500c to FX Return of the R200c. I did not look at the schematics, but isn't the FX Send on the 500 before the Master control?...
Correct, the 500's Master sets the same signal level for both power amps. ...

... ... ... If the Master on the 200 does not work in this situation (& I believe you are correct), then the 200's power amp will simply run as though its Master was maxed out (so the overall level will be set upstream - bass guitar volume control and 500 preamp Gain ... ... ...
That seems like an odd place to put a Master volume control, but you are correct - maybe it is more cost effective to design them that way.A look at the block diagram for Rumbles 40-500 shows the Master control upstream of the FX Send and the Active EQ and the Voicing Filters (Contour)!
... and the 500 preamp EQ & Master control). You're correct, John!
