Fender Rumble Club

:D I hope so. In my experience the 'plus side' usually has gotchas. Would Fender sell me the part? My local dealer turns out to NOT do amps.
Anyway, appreciate any comments
If no one local is willing/able to fix it, and if you can turn it on somehow, then plug into a power strip w/ a switch...

Somewhere in the back of my crowded mind, I recall someone replacing the power switch on their Rumble combo. They posted this part number as replacement.

I cannot confirm or deny it works - just passing along a fuzzy memory.

It might not even be the same style switch from the combo to the head version.

As usual, proceed at your own risk.

Hope it helps.

A few years ago I had to replace the on/off switch in my Rumble 40. I found the switch on amprepairparts.com, very cheap, and watched various Youtube videos to figure out how to do it. I will try to figure out where my post is stored here, and if I can find it, I'll give a link to it.

EDIT: link to my post about replacing the switch https://www.talkbass.com/threads/issues-w-fender-rumble-100.1416995/#post-23381425

I guess this is just a comment and what others may think. I went to turn on my Rumble 800H and unfortunately the switch just fell off. I love my amp, that's not a problem, great amp. But it seems like the on-off switch for such a piece of gear would be a little more robust. ... ... I have a Fender shop nearby but I haven't got an estimate yet ... ...

I don't see that part on the 7ender website, but you could call them and ssk.

@John Stephen, I linked your post on the Rumble Club Wiki page, right under a link to @thandy81's post showing that part he used for his Rumble 500c.

My only caution would be to remove the old switch from the Rumble 800h and check that it's spec. is matched by this replacement part! The 2-ohm capable R800h may, or may not, use a higher rated part than the 4-ohm capable R500c.

Perfect, thanks @G-Dog.

R100s don’t have horns. If mine did, I’d turn them off.

I’m officiating a wedding for two of my best friends from college next weekend and was asked to provide a sound system. Rather than rent one unnecessarily I carried my two R100s and a mixer out back onto the porch, plugging my iPhone into the mixer. I cranked it up and the music was conversation level around the perimeter of our large back yard (50-120) feet from the porch), so more than enough for what’s needed. Sounded just fine, too. Not as good as my stereo, but a whole lot easier to haul and set up / tear down. I knew this ought to work, but always prefer to check first!

I had to involve the mixer because if you plug into a Rumble’s Aux Input, you bypass the Send jack, meaning you can’t daisy chain the amps. That’s fine; the couple didn’t ask for mics but I’ll take a pair, anyway since the mixer is there. With this crowd, we may well end up with some live music and/or singalongs/faux karaoke as well.

I’ve done this before to watch a movie at a baby shower in our back yard, but that was a small group in close proximity.

Well, I finally got around to hooking up the new Broughton Low + High Pass Filter with my Rumble 100 and the Banshee with TI Flats. Wow! It does exactly what I bought it for. With the low pass filter, I can dial out the clank of the strings completely, and with the high pass filter, I can dial out the low end boominess. It takes out the parts I don't like and leaves the big round tone I love. I have it set at unity gain, so if I need my bass to sound "normal" I can just turn it off. It'll be a mostly-on pedal for me.

I want to blackout my 40. Can I get some links for the knobs? I know I can search but can I get some renewed interest at the top of the Rumble club?
I checked the Rumble Wiki page, and it looks like you need Kevins1701's post #8,995. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input to all. I called a Fender Repair shop and their guy says just put some cheap switch in, that's what we do. Since they are such a sturdy part I ordered two. 10 minute fix, works fine.

Hi everyone. I have a used Fender Rumble 40 (likely an older 2000s version), and it has always worked well.

I recently bought an HX Stomp and read that I should connect it to the amp’s EFFECTS RETURN to bypass the amp’s preamp and use the HX Stomp’s amp simulation.

Problem: when I plug into the RETURN, the sound is very poor—there’s hiss, and sometimes it feels like there’s no proper signal. The same happens with the SEND. However, if I plug into the normal input (of the amp), everything works fine.

When I checked the Rumble manual (image below), it explains SEND and RETURN but includes the note “EXCEPT ON RUMBLE 40,” which is confusing.

What could be happening? Could the SEND/RETURN jacks be faulty, or is the Rumble 40 designed differently?

Hi everyone. I have a used Fender Rumble 40 (likely an older 2000s version), and it has always worked well. ... ...

??? The currently produced Rumble V3 40 is the only 40-watt Rumble ever produced, beginning in 2014. The V1 from 2003-2010 had a 25 & 60. The V2 from 2010-2014 had a 30 & 75. So, yours can't be more than 12 years old.

??? Can I assume you're plugging the amp's Send in to the pedal's input and not the pedal's output? 🤪

That's because the Rumble 40 does not have an Effects Loop! If your amp does have an FX Loop, might it be another model? Please check the nameplate again and post a picture of it.

Your FX Return may just be dirty and need cleaning. See the FX Return Jack Fix wiki for an explanation and cleaning.

Hey, Zammy, might you still have the Rumble 100 V3 you reported 2 years ago? Or have you changed it for another?

The Rumble 100 V3 does have an FX Loop, which could (hopefully) just be dirty as explained in the linked FX Return Jack Fix wiki.

The only thing I would add to that Wiki is adding some Deoxit 5 to the cable end when you insert it into the jack. It's a great contact cleaner and lubricant.

You may need to crank the Stomp's output as well. You need a higher level output going into the FX Return than into the Input jack.

That was originally mentioned there, but a certain respected and very experienced elder equine said it's a waste of time & money 'cause it doesn't even get to the switch contacts that way! And spraying it into the jack just creates a mess and can actually harm other things.

But, thanks for trying to help. 👍
